Know

John 17:1–8 NLT
1 After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you. 2 For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. 3 And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. 4 I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. 5 Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began. 6 “I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you, 8 for I have passed on to them the message you gave me. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me.
John 17:

Know God

John 17:2–3 NLT
2 For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. 3 And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
Definition of know: 1. Be aware of, realize, be conscience of, have knowledge of, be informed, have information.
THIS FIRST DEFINITION IS A DANGEROUS KIND OF KNOWLEDGE WHEN TALKING ABOUT GOD AND JESUS.
John 8:42–47 NLT
42 Jesus told them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, because I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but he sent me. 43 Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It’s because you can’t even hear me! 44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 So when I tell the truth, you just naturally don’t believe me! 46 Which of you can truthfully accuse me of sin? And since I am telling you the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47 Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.”
JOHN 8:42-47
Second definition: 2. Have developed a relationship with someone through meeting and spending time with them, have met, be familiar of...
SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE DEFINITIONS? IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU ALL TO UNDERSTAND WHICH ONE DESCRIBES YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF GOD.
ETERNAL LIFE IS KNOWING GOD AND THE ONE HE SENT, JESUS CHRIST!
2 Corinthians 4:6 NLT
6 For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

MAKE HIM KNOWN

JOHN 17:
John 17:6–8 NLT
6 “I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you, 8 for I have passed on to them the message you gave me. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me.

1 Corinthians 11:1 NLT
1 And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.
THIS IS EVIDENCE OF KNOWING JESUS!
John 15:8 NLT
8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
WHEN WE KNOW JESUS IN A PERSONAL WAY OUR DESIRE SHOULD BE TO MAKE HIM KNOWN.
WHEN WE KNOW JESUS IN A PERSONAL WAY OUR DESIRE SHOULD BE TO MAKE HIM KNOWN.
DO IT AFRAID

EQUIP OTHERS TO MAKE HIM KNOWN

John 17:25-26
John 17:25–26 NLT
25 “O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me. 26 I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.”
THIS IS WHERE IT’S AT! THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN EQUIPPING OTHERS TO SHARE JESUS.
THIS
Hebrews 13:20–21 NLT
20 Now may the God of peace— who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood— 21 may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.
