Made for More Hope

New Hope

But we have a much greater hope than Leia or Luke.

We have a much greater hope than tomorrow or 65 years from now (with my wife)

We have a much greater hope than a mansion or a corvette

Or that I can pay for my 2 daughter’s weddings!

We have a hope in Jesus Christ.

We have a hope that we can make a difference in this life.

That God can change our outcome so that our lives can relfect His.

And that we change the landscape of God’s creation, that we can change people’s outcomes, that we have meaning and purpose in this life.

PPl w/o who put their trust in anything other than God will toss and turn like the waves and may be disappointed when their hope doesn’t come (this also creates a reaching mentality [we have to strive for approval or for things].

But when the foundation of our Hope is in Christ Jesus, in the creator of this world we can be confident that what we wait for will happen.

WE hope that God comes back (Eager Expectation, Possibility) (Indicates the act of looking forward with confidence to some future event or object)

We hope that our actions produce fruit ()

Ot-waiting expectantly.

Hope as in desire.

(I really want this to happen!)

Ever bought something and then waited for it to come and then it didnt come?

Or it wasnt what you thought it would be? (should we only focus on the waiting or the outcome?

I stopped putting my Hope in the permiting people!

CONFIDENCE

one aspect of hope is placing one’s confidence in God for future events.

See past our present circumstances and do things that bring God glory.

Hope creates in us a desire to do great things here and now.
