Title: “KEEP THE SPARK”
3 I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. 4 As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy. 5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. 6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith. The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion, desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.

Gifts = Body Parts
Gifts = Body Parts
tells us about this!
14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? 18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.
Everyone in this room is gifted - you may not even realize it...
Administration - organize, direct, and implement plans to lead others
Evangelism - able to overcome the normal fear of rejection and engage non-believers in meaningful conversations
Mercy - love and assist those who are suffering, and walk with them until The Lord allows their burden to be lifted
Teacher - love the truth and speak the truth in love
BODY WALKING THROUGH A DOOR
Imagine if I walked through a door and my right shoulder decides it doesn’t want to go through because it might get hurt.
My body is stalled because of fear!

2 timothy 1:
Paul & Timothy’s History
Paul & Timothy’s History
Timothy’s Hometown - Lystra
1st Missionary Journey: Paul passed through Lystra, healed a crippled man and was met with opposition that got a riot after him.
2nd Missionary Journey: Paul again passed through Lystra. While there he meets a young man who had come to know Jesus and was devoted. This was Timothy.
In we see this young man had a mother who believed in Jesus, but a father who was a greek (he didn’t believe it)
Paul takes Timothy with him to mentor him
This meant that Paul and Timothy had a close relationship. They knew each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
Right after Paul reminds Timothy of his giftings he tells him...
7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Fear is in everyone
Fear is in everyone
“The absence of fear makes us rely on ourselves. The presence of fear makes us rely on God.” - Nathan Wicker
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Unhealthy Fears
Unhealthy Fears

Every person in here has a gift and most likely gifts that God has placed inside of you. Some are already using your gifts. Some have yet to discover your gifts.
Don’t lose your gift to your fear s
