Introduction
If we were asked the question, do you have faith? what would our answers be? Many would say yes.! But what is faith? A good and simple definition of faith is “having complete confidence and trust in someone or something” So based on this definition, What is your complete confidence and trust in, today?
Body
The writer of Hebrews says “Faith is the realization of what is hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Ok. But what those that mean? I think one way of understanding this is, when we look back and see how God kept his promises , covenants with his people, and what he has done for us , gives us confidence to trust in God to have what we hope for in the future, to realize it as having it now, although we don’t see it yet, or have it in our hands yet. Faith then becomes an article of evidence (like in court of law, something tangible if you will) of God’s reality in our lives, and a witness to the world. But faith can become very challenging specially when we pray and pray, and seemingly nothing happens, or when we pray and keep doing good and right things get worse! We have all been there haven’t we? But we must never forget that God is the rewarder of those who believe in him and seek him. Faith is when we pray and doing everything we can, rightly and justly and then trust and accept whatever the outcome from God.
Faith is when we do everything we can rightly and justly and then trust and accept whatever the outcome is from God.
Faith gives courage, faith gives ability to hear God in scripture, in nature, and in our circumstances. Faith will keep going where God calls and keep doing what God commands. Faith, generates life.
Conclusion
So today we come by faith to the new covenant God established by the Blood of his only Son Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins. Having complete confidence and trust in Jesus to forgive our sins and to generate new life in us physically and spiritually by his precious blood we will partake in a few minute. Jesus giving us courage to Passover our difficulties, to proclaim his Gospel to a desperate world, strength to to do his work of charity and Justice, our faith and our works together will keep us always prepared, and ready for Jesus.
