(NKJV)
30 So Jacob went in to Rachel also, and indeed he loved Rachel more than Leah, and he served with Laban for another seven years.
31 Now the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, and He opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.
32 Leah conceived and bore a son and named him Reuben, for she said, “Because the Lord has seen my affliction; surely now my husband will love me.”
33 Then she conceived again and bore a son and said, “Because the Lord has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also.” So she named him Simeon.
34 She conceived again and bore a son and said, “Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore he was named Levi.
35 And she conceived again and bore a son and said, “This time I will praise the Lord.” Therefore she named him Judah. Then she stopped bearing.
I need to raise a Praise
I believe that in their life we will find a lot of truths and discover the faithfulness of a God how indeed does not change.
(NKJV)
30 Then Jacob also went in to Rachel, and he also loved Rachel more than Leah. And he served with Laban still another seven years.
31 When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, He opened her womb; but Rachel was barren. 32 So Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben; for she said, “The Lord has surely looked on my affliction. Now therefore, my husband will love me.” 33 Then she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Because the Lord has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also.” And she called his name Simeon. 34 She conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called Levi. 35 And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Now I will praise the Lord.” Therefore she called his name Judah. Then she stopped bearing.
For the next couple of Sunday’s I will be looking at the life of Jacob Leah and Rachel
I believe that in their life we will find a lot of truths and discover the faithfulness of a God how indeed does not change.
Today, we focus on Jacob wife Leah.
Though she was the first born sister. She was not Jacob first option.
Honestly she was not his 2nd or 3rd option either. She was no where on the list
Jacob had his eyes on a good-looking hottie he met at the well.
She desired her so much that he work for her. 7 years he intended to work. This how much he desired Rachel
Rachel she seen to serve as a deep typology
She now seems to represent a chosen person.
The apple of ones eye. Worthy and worth joining to.
Just as Israel was the apple of God eye.
Worthy of him leaving heaven.
They one that he is married to.
Though she is born second she seems to referent God first choose.
She Jacob began to humble himself just as Christ humbled himself and took the form of man.
Jacob humbled himself and worked for seven years to redeem Rachel from her father Laban.
But in this Laban tricks Jacob and he gives him Leah.
Leah here is the oldest sister.
Leah the bible says that her eyes where weak.
17 And Leah’s eyes were weak, but Rachel was beautiful of form and face.
Translated, Delicate, soft. some translation says tangled.
Delicate, soft some translation says tangled.
Some interpreters would say she was cockeyed or had a lazy eye.
This is believed to be included to show her lack of beauty.
In comparison to Rachel beauty
She was weak eyed. There was something wrong with her gaze.
3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
(NASB95)
(NASB95)

Her eyes where weak.
He tells Laban verse 25
25 So it came about in the morning that, behold, it was Leah! And he said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served with you? Why then have you deceived me?”
gen
“What is this you have done to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served with you? Why then have you deceived me?”
I remember Jesus talking to the Syrophoenician Woman
24 But He answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
26 And He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
(NASB95)

26 And He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
Leah represents the dogs that get the crumbs.
He tells the Syrophoenician Woman it not your time yet.
It was never supposed to be her Leah’s time
she had no beauty to behold and there was weakness in her eyes. Thought she was not the one that he came for originally.
BUT Still he married her
Look at your neighbor and say stop!!!
Verse 30 said Jacob loved Rachel more than Leah.
30 So Jacob went in to Rachel also, and indeed he loved Rachel more than Leah, and he served with Laban for another seven years.
Leah now.. has no beauty to boast in. she is full of weakness she seemingly is not plan b she not even in the plan at all.
She is the 3rd wheel and nobody likes to be the 3rd wheel.
Now she feels unloved.
Filled full of insecurity. She totally feels unloved
Somebody say stop.
But God sees the reality of her heart.
He opens up Leah womb and leaves Rachel barren.
25 For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation—that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in;
says
says
25 ….hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.
in typology a picture is panted here Rachel is barren until the time of Leah fruitfulness is fulfilled and come
look at
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
(KJV 1900)
(KJV 1900)
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
God is now provoking Rachel to jealous by Leah who is not beautiful and chosen
The same thing he is doing now with us the gentile.
Provoking the Jews to jealously. So to boast in us but so they may turn and see a side of God that they have not seen.
Somebody say stop
So Leah conceives and bore a son named Reuben
Saying the lord has seen our affliction
Reason to praise
This God who sit high and looks low is attentive to our cries.
He peaks over the balcony of heaven and gazes continually upon the ones he loves.
Leah I see how you where not wanted. I feel your afflictions
15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

I have to STOP and thank God that he feels me.
He knows what its like to be unliked and rejected and unloved.
Oh Reuben and im not talking about a sandwich.
Im talking about the one who,
2 For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
3 He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.
6 All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.
8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off out of the land of the living For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?
9 His grave was assigned with wicked men, Yet He was with a rich man in His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.
10 But the Lord was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.
2 For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
taken away;
That we should look upon Him,
Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
3 He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He did not open His mouth;
Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,
And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,
So He did not open His mouth.
8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away;
10 But the Lord was pleased
To crush Him, putting Him to grief;
Its time to raise a praise for Reuben
Then she conceived again and said the lord has heard that I am unloved and given me a son.
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.
Leah he didn’t just give you a son. He gave you His son.
For God is love and in
23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.
he says He loves us with the same love he loves Jesus.
he says He loves us with the same love he loves Jesus.
I got to stop
And raise a praise for Simeon
Not only does he see me, he loves me
Then she conceived again and called this one Levi
Levi mean to join or attach.
She said my husband will become attach to me
Leah I got one better for you. Jesus will join himself with you
17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
12 So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh—
Roman 8 says we are joint-heir with and to Christ.
says we are joint-heir with and to Christ.
says we are joint-heir with and to Christ.
joint-heir with and to Christ.
Here God is.. you may not be the prettiest or the smartest or the richest or the strongest but he says still I want you I want to join myself with you.
Somebody say stop
Its time to raise a praise…Levi
Then she bore another son
The 4th one
And she said all the other son show what the Lord has gone for me but this son is different
This son represents what I will do for God.
This time she said I will Praise the Lord.
Judah means praise.
Then the bible said she named him Judah then she stopped.
Its time to stop and raise a praise
Looking back and thinking about what he has done and what he has taken us from and out of.
We where the worst but God made us the 1st. look at you neighbor and say stop…
Its time to raise a praise
Judah the woman the unloved one would bore a son named Judah a Jesus would become the lion of the tribe of Judah
It was Judah’s lane that birth David who was a crazy praise….
It time to stop and raise a praise
Judah here we are…
