You really dread to here the words “Honey did you forget something.”
An elderly woman took her husband to the doctor and said, Doc, I think he has Alzheimer’s. He forgets things all the time. The doctor checks him out and says no it’s just the natural effects of old age.
Have him start writing things down to help him remember. That night as they were getting ready for bed, his wife asked her husband if he would get her some ice cream? He said, “sure I get you some.” She said, “you better write it down>”
He said, Angrily, “I can remember Ice cream.” She said, “I want chocolate topping, and cherry on top, and you better write it down so, you want forget.”
The husband who is real angry said, “I don’t need to write it down. I can remember Ice cream, chocolate topping and a cherry on top!”
The husband goes to the kitchen and comes back with bacon, eggs, hash browns, and a glass of milk. The wife looks at him and says, “you forgot my toast.”
All joking aside… If we are ever going to live up to our potential as a Christian.
The Apostle Paul said that there are somethings we need to forget.
Philippians 3:13 KJV 1900
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
Philippians
Many of us still live in the past.
Past Mistakes
Sin
Guilt
Hurt
Shame
Feeling of being Failure
Stupid Decisions
Disappointments
We seem not to get over them, and the past controls our lives.
Who gains from us living in the past?
SATAN
Why does Satan likes it when people can’t get over the past?
People think, God could never forgive them of all the bad things they have done.
The past is used as your stumbling block.
Your past can keep you weak.
Your past will keep you living in sin.
Your past will control your future if you will let it.
The past will keep you from a relationship with God.
The past is what it is the PAST.
It can be changed
Only the Present Moment can be changed.
The decision or decisions you make at this time and moment.
Do I accept the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior?
Do I live for God?
Do I surrender my life to Christ?
Do I keep cheating on my wife?
Do I steel the money off the counter?
Do I keep living this lie?
Do I want to stay depressed?
All of the answers to those questions are your choices and your decisions.
You made them no one else.
God gave men, women, and children free will to make decisions for ourselves.
We have to understand when we mess up, make bad decisions, and fall into sin.
GOD will Forgive us!
1 John 1:9 KJV 1900
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

What does that verse tell you.
THAT GOD WILL FORGIVE YOU.
When God For gives you, He for gets it and does bring it up again.
Psalm 103:12 KJV 1900
12 As far as the east is from the west, So far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103:12–13 KJV 1900
12 As far as the east is from the west, So far hath he removed our transgressions from us. 13 Like as a father pitieth his children, So the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
