Value is an incredibly subjective thing. It is based completely on demand and desire. If something is wanted, it’s worth everything. But if something is unwanted, it’s worth nothing. Unfortunately, it can be the case for people as well as things – some are wanted and feel valued and others are unwanted and feel worthless. So, the thing we most want is to be valued. But this subjective circle is not how it works with God. With God we are valued because he made us and saves us. With God we are valued because we bear his image and his Spirit. With God we can find something so valuable it’s literally priceless – that is, the desire and demand of our Creator and Father and King.
