We continue our examination of as we look at the excellence of God’s Word

Good

God is good ()
God’s nature is “goodness” ()
good (2895. טוֹב ṭowb, tobe) a prim. root, to be (trans. do or make) good (or well) in the widest sense:—be (do) better, cheer, be (do, seem) good, (make) goodly, × please, (be, do, go, play) well. (Strong's (Vol. 2, p. 45).)
God is “abundant in goodness” ()
God’s providing is described as goodness ()

How can being afflicted be good?

Conclusion

God is good

Affliction is good if it leads us to repentance (as it should)
What am I doing with God’s Word?
Is it better unto me than thousands of gold and silver? ()

If not, why not?
God’s word teaches us good judgment and knowledge
Am I judging righteously?
Do I have knowledge as God wants me to have?
I am going to do better!
