God’s Holiness

Psalm 29:1–2 NKJV
Give unto the Lord, O you mighty ones, Give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
Psalm 96:7–10 NKJV
Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Give to the Lord glory and strength. Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts. Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth. Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns; The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved; He shall judge the peoples righteously.”
Psalms 96:
What is holiness to you?
Holiness for me was
As Apostolic Pentecostal Christians/Believers, we are taught about living holy lives unto Jesus, as His disciples grew up hearing as Jews, and reinforced by their Rabbi/Master/Teacher.
As they passed on their Rabbi’s teaching on how to interpret God’s Law and how to live it out, they emphasized the need for holiness.
Now knowing the great teacher you have in Pastor O’Brien, I’m would imagine that you have a good grasp on what holiness is, both in respect to God, and in respect to man.
But in not wanting to take it for granted, let’s revisit it briefly.
Exodus 3:
Exodus 3:1–5 NKJV
Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.” So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”
Isaiah 43:15 NKJV
I am the Lord, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King.”
We are first introduced to the concept, the idea of God being Holy when Moshe encounters Him while feeding his father in laws sheep.
God makes Himself visible to Moshe as to draw his interest.
When Moshe investigates this “burning bush”, God tells Moshe to take off his sandals
