Let's just open in a word of prayer Dear Heavenly Father. We thank you that we can come here this morning. Lord I just pray that You would use me to expand your Word. Lord I just pray that you would help the people to understand what I am trying to say and what, I just pray, is honouring to you I pray these things in Jesus name, amen.

I don't know about you, but turn around Lisa, which is what we're looking at today by Kohler Pasay Waco what I said ran-tan. Is it right time for me?

Some of my best childhood memories from around this time. Someone was first childhood memories into the affair as a kid and I think I was the first chocolate Easter egg. I can remember receiving I'm going to the to the pride stand straight and I'm going to put on a happy cat wasn't wanting everybody to be groomed. But I can remember going to this place and saying model train set up and just thinking that was amazing but in general it's a it's a great time of pisstivity and getting together with family and friends that usually good weather with it sitting around the far or whatever. That's usually a good time. Hello Barbara this morning. We say it was the Festival of the unleavened bread called the Passover.

Price of your Familia de pasado Aiden. Should I this holiday is celebrated by the Jewish people. the Passover holiday

was celebrated Celebrated in commemoration of God rescuing the Jews from the bondage in agent they had been ten plagues that had been sent upon the agent. The last plague and Angel of Death was sent to visit the first phone in families. The only place death did not visit is where the Jews had killed a lamb and apply the blood to the doorpost of a hassle tent. In the angel of death with pasta open.

Of course, the pasta is also a picture of what the Lord Jesus would do for us. Is John the Baptist and answers concerning Jesus in John chapter 1 verse 9 thing fs29. Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world

so do this point it would have been about 14 hundred and fifty years since Moses and the Jewish people cross the Red Sea.

So right now I'm speculating. But I think a lot of the people who come to celebrate the Passover might have been dead just for the festivities and for the holiday.

Good like a stew today.

Show me the path of a time they could have been as many as 200,000 visitors in Jerusalem. The city would have been full with people. Can you imagine the hustle and bustle around the place? Just think about the Friday before I started the Thursday before Good Friday here. Is anyone ever going to the supermarket and tried to get something? What a stupid time to guy? I'm sure people think that the supermarket is never going to open again. the amount of stuff people buy

Jerusalem would have been like that but with 200,000 people visiting I think it might have been a little bit busier than normal.

And would have been even more exciting because all of the people knew Jesus was around.

What teachings was he going to bring? What miracles was he going to do What system is all that? I had been waiting for. So you can imagine the great time in facility facility or getting together with family and friends and expectation.

But not everyone is happy. It was nice secret that Jewish leaders wanted to kill Jesus.

For some time now that I had been looking for a while to get rid of him, but the problem was Jesus was very popular with the people.

And I couldn't find the right opportunity to kill him and if they arrested him publicly by feed, the people would turn against them and support Jesus. I would have a ride on their hands.

Ben and his Judas Janice was well-respected amount by the disciples. Judas was the group treasurer. Well that John tells us and he's gospel to Judas was a thief. Judas had preached for Jesus as a disciple and in all likelihood even work miracles. We wonder why Jews did what he did.

Some of speculated that he was frustrated with Jesus Jesus unwillingness to save political power and I will try the Romans.

This is a possible explanation. But all the Bible tells us is a Judas never really believed in Jesus and we can read that in John chapter 6 verse 64 which says get there was some of you who do not believe. Jesus news New York from the beginning Which of them did not believe and who would betray him? Whatever the case Luke does tell us the Judas was acting under the influence of Satan who had entered into him. Said the chief price had been looking for a way to get rid of Jesus and get him a line. Set up a trial starts with Satan entering into Judas. We can read English full that the chief priests and officials of the temple did not have the guy looking for someone Judas went to them having discussions with him on how he might betray Jesus. All their wishes have come true.

And the Bible tells us that I would to lie to and agreed to give him money. Best 6002 Judas consented and watched for the opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when there was no crab prison.

At this point, I think we need to ask ourselves a question.

Who do you think's in control? Do you think cycling is? What do you think artists? When are the site that has a lot of power and we see bad things happening all the time. And we wonder what is going on.

In this situation safe and must have thought he had Jesus right where he wanted him. What happens when we think when we seen things on going Droid? Why all the while I shoot? for example in same-sex marriage the abortion bill in the moment. Do we still think God's in control? What we started app.

This would look for the right time to betray Jesus by the ultimate, but it was ultimately God's time. Jesus would not favorite ride or arrested a moment too early. What you like to fulfill God's plan. It's important tonight that Jesus wasn't fooled. In fact, he treated you this calmly knowing that he would he would betray him and they even gave him an opportunity to repaint. S21 but the hand of him who is going to betray me. He's with mine on the table. The son of man will go. As it is declared. But why aren't you the man who betrays him? So it would have been a sad time for Jude. It would have been a set. It is a sad time for anyone should be changed to be a Christian.

It's even sadder for those people who sit in the pews Sunday after Sunday, and I am not truly a child of God. How many times do we need to hear the gospel? before we truly believe Have the day in which the Passover Lamb was to be killed had come. Jesus entrusted the meal preparations to pay Don Jon This was an important events. And Jesus chose men, he could trust to get the job done.

arrange some way Oh, sorry. I read something that said even when you don't realize it.

And it seems like a trivial task. It might be very important to a savior. Face little insignificant things that he calls us to do actually have great significance to him and he's playing games. I tell my boys and I think I was told if a bit too if it's doing well. Add a couple of Volvo ratings to back that up. One of them things Colossians chapter 3 verse 23, whatever you do work at it with all your heart as work for the Lord not for human master. and the other one Luke chapter 16 verse 10 Whoever can be trusted with very little.

Can be also trusted with much and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with match.

Think about it for a moment. I said before those 200,000 visitors in Jerusalem. That would answer the pasta Festival is benign. Jerusalem would have been taming with people planning to eat the Passover meal. available rooms would have been impossible to find

we want I want a slight looking for somewhere to stay at that last minute and we know we should have done it weeks ago or a week before. So he's played at in John. Play what you go into Jerusalem when I would say a man catching carrying a picture of water.

I would have followed him to the place. The right place Jesus made a pretty easy for the boys really because A man carrying a jar of water back in those days would have stood that it was typically a job to the ladies back then. Obviously the owner of the house music and was willing to share he slides room on the top of his house for such an occasion. The ram was finished with the traditional couches that the men could read Recon on. Peter and John completed a Judy's and the Passover meal was ready to wake when Jesus and the other disciples arrived. Peter and John might have shorts that what I was doing was not that important. But we know that was very important.

Jesus was very keen to share the last meal with his disciples. He was King to teach them more before he left. Show me nice at what Peter and John did wasn't trivial. It was the Last Supper.

It's funny, isn't it? We we we had the last half of it how many peaches the painted around the world of Allah stop. I have any and I always just kidding. I'm already but it's probably one of the most famous meals ever. Remember, whatever you do do it. Well because you do not know the significance if might have to God's plan.

Jesus one of the time of intimacy to raise Shore to teach and to instruct his disciples and to instruct him about the Lord's Supper.

We can get caught up.

About the way we do things when it comes to communion. Whether we do it's cuz it's traditional. Whether we do it because that's why we've always done it.

When we don't like change. I can remember as a kid going to church at the Presbyterian Church. I've been feeling. and when it came time for communion I was never allowed in that the back room where they got communion ready little line you and I have a little drink of commuting and I mourn after or juice off of a Droid some bread certainly wasn't. My boys get away with it all the time. I have it. But it's funny how we do things.

We Ready from 14 then Jesus and his Apostles reclined at the table and he said to them I have a lead azide to eat this Passover with you before I suffer for I tell you I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God. After taking the cop he gave thanks and said take you some divided among you. For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.

And he took The Bread Guy. Thanks and park it and gave it to them. This is my body given for you do this in remembrance of me? In the same way after supper. He took the cup saying this cop is the New Covenant in my blood which is poured out for you.

So let's look at verse 19 and 20. We can say that it talks about the bread and go to snow and rain in the copying verse 20 things are two things. We always talk about when it comes to the time of communion the bread bang the symbol of Jesus body broken and hung on the cross. a Sign by the compromises of Jesus blood spilled thrush

That's what they symbols of May for the juice and the bread to remind us if he's broken body and blood spilt for us. But today I want to look at what else it tells us. I'm going to jump Ford verse 21st.

It's not the drinking of the cup that I want to look at. It's the part where Jesus says this cup is the New Covenant in my blood which is poured out for you.

Imagine the disciples. Imagine what the disciples must have thought when I heard Jesus itis.

You can just hear them saying what is he talking about? Because they denied I had brain on to Jesus teachings. I don't think I fully understood. After all, I had seen him do a number of Miracles bring people back from the dead. So how could any think happened to Jesus?

We know that Jesus was a perfect sacrifice the Spotless lamb crucified for us.

So what we may have

so that we might have a relationship with his father Al guard. The New Covenant was his blood Allowing God to look upon us because through Jesus perfect sacrifice. We are spas in God's eyes. We are as white as snow.

So let's go back to verse no answering and here. I don't want to talk about the bread thing parking.

It's the part that says do this in remembrance of me. So when we take communion like we normally do. We do remember that Jesus. We do remember Jesus death in crucifixion on the cross. How long does communion go for? I like 10-15 minutes. Maybe if someone stole going to be gone with my Gap 20 minutes out and I have a loan and I think probably for that 10 or 15 minutes. We do you think about Jesus's sacrifice. He's death on the cross.

But he said enough.

and of course the answer is 9

we need to remember what Jesus has done for us all the time because we seen all the time. And that's what he died for to take away our sins.

And I'm not saying we have to go to the corner stand on a soapbox and preach and maybe a Bible around. However

A couple of weeks ago guy. We went out of the feeling to Amanda's dinner and Montana odd Spike mountain is the managing director of Australian Christian Lobby.

And he was talking about the same sex marriage bill.

I haven't got past and the research shows that most people voted for for it because they need someone that was are there gay or lesbian?

but the team needs there are more Christians in Australia than there are gay and lesbian. So why didn't people vote? No thinking about it Christian friends?

is it because they dykin are you a Christian? And what you stand for?

I can't see any difference in you. It's the same old saying it's that old saying. You can say a little bit of light in a dark room.

Can people see? The light in you shining in the dark quote.

When you walk out the back of the stores.

Do you cover up yule log? Do you know why people save? Jesus light shining tree

Yes, we need to remember what Jesus has done for us on the cross. But we can't just remember what he's done when it comes to a time of communion. We need to remember every day what he has done for us.

And that will help us. That will help a lot. Of the world Jesus Shine through us. So the whole world can see

Dear heavenly father way we do is just pray that you would help us. to understand the significant cost

significant cost of Jesus dying on that cross

we pray that you would help us to understand fully.

And not to cover up.

Jesus in a laws to let the world know. Who he is and what it is done for us, which is pride a seams in Jesus name. I mean
