Watch Your Step

Last Week we learned about our weaknesses and how we must depend completely upon Christ for our strength and hope.
This week I want us to watch our step as we look into the Psalms for inspiration today.
Psalm 37:23–24 NKJV
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.
NKJV 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
Steps = Course or path
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.
I believe each step can be equated to a decision.
Every decision you make is a step toward God or away from God.
What is a good man?
Mark 10:18 NKJV
18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.
mark 10
A good Man is a man who does Good.
A Man who does Good.
A good mans steps are ORDERED
This word Ordered doesn’t mean, commanded by the Lord, but rather a course has been charted by the Lord
Many of us feel as though we stray from His course quite often. But have we really?
verse 24 says “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.”
To fully understand today's passage we must look at the intent of the psalm. The first several verses of chapter 37 lay a foundation for us to build on
Psalm 37:1–4 NKJV
1 Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:1-
Psalm 37:5–7 NKJV
5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
Proverbs 3:
Proverbs 3:6 NKJV
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Plans change
Proverbs 16:7–9 NKJV
7 When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. 8 Better is a little with righteousness, Than vast revenues without justice. 9 A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
If you are struggling to find your way today turn to the Word of God
Psalm 119:105 NKJV
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Psalm 23:2 NKJV
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
His Name’s Sake
Psalm 23:4 NKJV
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:1–3 NKJV
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
Psalm 23
Acknowledge Him Today
Proverbs 3:6 NKJV
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
