We all have stories
We all have stories
Everyone likes stories and telling stories is as old as time itself. Many of you may be thinking right now of a particular story you like. Good stories are told and remembered for a long time. When I think of stories that survive the test of time I think of stories like King Arthur or Romeo and Juliet. What if I told you tonight that you have a story to tell? What if I told you that your life is a story that has been orgistrated by God to be shared. Sure, you may not publish your story in a book and most likely it will not become a major motion picture but what makes your story special is not that it will sell books or make a good movie. What makes your story special is that your story is a part of God’s story.
Your past is a part of God’s future for you.
What is God’s story?
What is God’s story?
History could literally be called “His-story”. Everything that has ever happened no matter how small or how big is all a part of God’s story that he is telling to the world. We know from that God is the creator of everything. Yes, even time. When God created light and dark and gave them the names “day” and “night” he wasn’t merely making something pretty for us to look at or indications of when to wake up and go to sleep. In creating this God created time. Therefore, as the creator of time God also has planned everything that will happen in time. I know, that is a big concept for us to understand. So, what is God’s story?
God’s story begins well..in the beginning. God created everything and it was good. He created Adam and Eve to live in relationship with him and to enjoy the world he gave them. However, Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God’s command.
