CEREMONY SPEAKING:
Bride Arrives at the Front
We are gathered here today before God, and in the presence of friends and loved ones, to celebrate one of life's greatest moments. We are here to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love, and to add our best wishes and blessings to the words that unite Josh & Crystal into marriage.
You may all be seated.
CEREMONY SPEAKING:
JOSH and CRYSTAL, marriage is the most important of all earthly relationships. It should be approached reverently, thoughtfully and with full understanding of its sacred nature. Your marriage will stand by the strength of your love and the power of your faith in each other and in God. Just as two threads woven in opposite directions form a beautiful tapestry, so do your two lives when merged together make a beautiful marriage.

PERSONAL NOTE:
You may all be seated.
Over the past few years, I have formed a friendship with Josh and Crystal. If you have known either of them for even a minute, you know that they are down to earth, real people who will quickly share their opinion with you. More than simply their ideas albeit about politics, patriotism, or how to live a life of simplicity they are folks that are deeply loyal. I have seen how they will sacrifice their time, their energy, their resources to help someone they care deeply about. I have been on the humbling receiving end of this in our friendship. I have enjoyed some outdoor excursions with Josh, and one thing I always take away is that regardless of how much he knows about something or is set on doing something a particular way he is refreshingly teachable. Maybe not always in front of you, but you can tell he is a lifelong learner of how to do better, how to be better. This type of approach to life and especially one of the most delicate relationships in our life, marriage, will pay tremendous dividends.

Marriage isn’t selfish. Marriage requires compromise. A good marriage requires work and healthy communication.

Paul writes about love in this way:
Marriage isn’t selfish. Marriage requires compromise. A good marriage requires work and healthy communication.
Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud. Love is never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand it's own way. Love is not irritable or touchy. Love does not hold grudges and will hardly notice when others do it wrong. Love is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out. If you love someone, you will be loyal to them no matter what the costs. You will always believe in them, always expect the best in them, and will always stand your ground in defending them.
Paul writes about love in this way:
AT THIS TIME, I AM GOING TO ASK JOSH AND CRYSTAL TO FACE ONE ANOTHER AND TAKE EACH OTHER’S HANDS AS THEY READ THEIR INDIVIDUAL VOWS TO ONE ANOTHER.

John writes this:
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is born of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God—for God is love.
God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is born of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God—for God is love.
Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us.

I DO’S:
Do you JOSH promise to love CRYSTAL and respect her, to share your life and your dreams, to build with her a home that is a place of love, happiness, commitment and growth?

RINGS:
AT THIS TIME, WE ARE GOING TO HAVE THE EXCHANGING OF THE RINGS.
Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect him, forsaking all others and holding only to him forever? ("I do")
AT THIS TIME WE ARE GOING TO HAVE THE EXCHANGING OF THE RINGS.
They say there are three rings to marriage: the engagement ring, the wedding ring, and the suffering.
The ring does not make you married. The ring is a token of the love they share. The ring is a symbol of the unbroken circle of their love. Love freely given that has no beginning and no end, no giver and no receiver for each is the giver and each is the receiver. May these rings always remind you of the vows you have taken.

I JOSH, take YOU, CRYSTAL to be my Wife- To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, in joy and sorrow, and I promise My love to you. And with this ring, I take you as my Wife, for as long as we both shall live. (WITH THIS RING I THEE WED.)

WEDDING PRAYER:
Bless their marriage, O God, as they begin their journey down the road of life together. We don't know what lies ahead for the road turns and bends. But help them to make the best of whatever comes their way.
Wedding Prayer
Bless their marriage, O God, as they begin their journey down the road of life together. We don't know what lies ahead for the road turns and bends. But help them to make the best of whatever comes their way.
Help them to continue to enjoy each other as they did when they first met. Help them to realize that nothing nor no one is perfect and to look for the good in all things and all people including themselves.

Help them to learn from each other and to help each other to grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Help them to create for their children a peaceful, stable home of love as a foundation on which they can build their lives.
But most of all, dear God, help them to keep lit the torch of love' that they now share so that by their loving example they may pass on the light of love to their children and to their children's children forever. Amen
