A Mountain Place
I) Where you get alone with God (vs 1-4)
A) Relationship of Praise (vs 1)
B) Reflection of Past Victories (vs 2)
Wonderful things. “Thou hast done wonderful things” (Isaiah 25:1).
Word fulfilled. “Thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth” (Psalm 25:1). The power of God is seen in His faithfulness in fulfilling His Word. What God said He would do He did. No power can hinder God from doing what He has decreed. God does not lie. His Word is always truth.
Wicked destroyed. The power of God destroyed the wicked who seemed so powerful. First, the CITIES destroyed. “Thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin” (Isaiah 25:2) Cities of the wicked were completely ruined, even though they were well defended. Second, the CITADELS destroyed. “A palace of strangers to be no city” (Isaiah 25:2). The great and magnificent palaces of the powerful rulers were destroyed by the all-powerful God. Third, the COMPLETENESS in the destruction. “It shall never be built” (Isaiah 25:2). The destruction of the cities and palaces was so great that they would not be rebuilt. Divine power is evident here.
