Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
“Let us break their chains
and throw off their shackles.”
The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.
He rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
“I have installed my king
on Zion, my holy mountain.”
I will proclaim the Lord’s decree:
He said to me, “You are my son;
today I have become your father.
Ask me,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.
You will break them with a rod of iron;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”
Therefore, you kings, be wise;
be warned, you rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear
and celebrate his rule with trembling.
Kiss his son, or he will be angry
and your way will lead to your destruction,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

We cannot understand the OT scriptures fully and properly without Christ, because he is the subject matter of the OT. To read them without seeing Christ in them is to miss the very person and subject these scriptures are about because Jesus is patterned promised and Present in the OT.
Martin Luther was famous for having said that Christ Can be found on every page of the OT. Jesus is patterned promised and Present in the OT. (Check who said this)
The most important principle of interpretation that Martin Luther used was “Scripture interprets Scripture.” The tools for properly interpreting the Bible are contained in the Bible itself. Thus, he delved into the New Testament to see how Jesus and the apostles had interpreted Scripture. There he found a valuable tool. He discovered that many Old Testament people and institutions were to be understood as types or patterns that foreshadowed and proclaimed the Christ, who would surpass them and fulfill them. Thus, in his Preface to the Psalter, Luther wrote, “The true, the only sense of the Psalms is the Christ-sense.”

You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,

The church has always understood this Psalm to be Messianic in its emphasis. Basically it points us to Jesus, God’s Chosen King and Only Begotton Son. While it is preferable to understand the psalm first in its historical and literary setting as a “royal psalm,” the eyes of faith must look beyond it to the powerful message of the full establishment of God’s kingdom in Jesus Christ. Not only Is this Psalm about Chirst, as we shall see Christ actualluy Speaks (Testifies) in this ancient Psalm.

The Book of Psalms contains different typs of Psalms. Some Psalms that are reffered to as Royal Psalms because they refer to the Monarchy in Ancient Isreal. is often Reffered to as a Royal Psalm, Royal because it refers to King David of Ancient Isreal. But it is also a Messianic Psalm because it also anticipates and forshadows the comming messianic King. In short it refers to Jesus.

God has established his King, Dont Fight The King. If you want the blessing and favour and life of God, submit to his annointed King. True blessing doesn’t come from being free to live your own life; true happiness comes from following Jesus Christ.

Two Reasons you should care?
Two Reasons you should care?
1) Rebellion against the king is self destructive and futile, it will not lead to the freedom from God you crave but you crave but to a Hell of your own making.
2) Subnmission leads to the Kings blessing freedom and protection.
2) We all have kings that we seek to serve other than Gods anointed.
3) True Freedom Do you value your Freedom? True Freedom comes through subnmission. It is for Freedfom that Christ has set us free.
