Communion for the Christian is an acknowledgement of what Christ did for us on the Cross, and also a reminder for the Jews, that depend on the yearly Sacrifice to atone for their sins, that He will return for them as well, after a designated time, known as “The fullness of the Gentiles come in”.
The Jews rejected their Messiah, and by doing so, Christ formed the Church.

We were grafted into the vine, and are God’s children, by grace, not by works.
Even though we are co heirs with Christ, we must remain in the vine through the help of the Holy Spirit on a daily basis.
Communion for us reminds us, in a way, to do so.
Let us take the emblems in remembrance of Christ
