Today’s Scripture
Today’s Scripture

Jeremiah 1:4–10 NIV
4 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” 6 “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” 7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. 9 Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
Who knows you the best on earth?

then God told him that

Right after Philip met Jesus and went to Nathanael and told him that
John 1:44–45 NIV
44 Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. 45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
How about Samuel?
John 1:44-4

I have something to say to all of you who came to worship God here at Contoocook United Methodist Church.

“God called you here for something”

How are you gonna respond to His Calling?

How are you gonna respond to His Calling?

I believe you won’t say, “I am too young” like Jeremiah.
or are you gonna say, “ I have never been eloquent. or I am slow of speech and tongue.” like Moses?
then guess what God would say to you.
Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
or are you gonna say, “am I not a Benjamite, from the smallest tribe of Israel like Saul?
or “Lord, don’t you know where I came from? I am from one of the smallest towns in the United States”
Do you think do these excuses work for God? Not at all.
None of them work for God’s calling.
If you are here today, all of you are called by God. Amen!
For what? for something related to His dream that all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
We are all here to know something today.
God wants to work with you for His dream.
This is a reason that God is patient, slow to anger, with His boundless love, neither saving everyone nor judging everyone.
Psalm 103:8 NIV
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
And Paul’s advise is here.
2 Peter 3:8–9 NIV
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Psalm
2 peter 3:8-
