Sponsorship is one peer helping another peer in the Program of recover.

I sponsor is not a pastor, and a pastor is not a sponsor.
I sponsor holds us accountable.
accountability is nothing to fear. put simply is a person holding a mirror up to your behavior so that you can avoid disaster.
Sponsors should be relatable, in celebrate recovery they should have a solid tangible relationship with Christ:
They should be accountable to a home Church.
they should be active in the mission of Christ in the world through that church.
they should be actively engaged in a prayer life.
they should be traceable.
( their is more to a relationship with God than memes and spiritual cliches.

A person in recovery has to be willing to put in the work to recover.

You should never expect someone to do for you what God expected you to do for yourself.

4 But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For each one shall bear his own load.

One of the chief responsibilities of a sponsor is to work steps with sposee’s.
meeting are good.
Church is awesome.
Ministry is key.
but working the steps is a they key therapy that brings a spiritual awakening that brings recovery

Rigorous Honesty is the foundation of recovery.

. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.

we need to be honest with ourselves.
The New King James Version. (1982). (). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.
we have to be honest with God.
