I'm not saying last last word, you know, you might want to have me back every once in awhile. Would that be okay? Okay, okay.

what I was thinking this week of all the wonderful things that that has happened in this place. Wonderful people who have come into this place. I was even thinking this morning and I've already talked to a few of you how just how you blessed me in my In my ministry here, so now I thank you. I thank you. Every one of you here has blessed me one way or another here. Did you know that that's the truth? That's the truth.

So I wanted to talk to you about one of the things that I've learned in life that is sustained me in Ministry and didn't life. I think it's the most important and valuable virtue to me. In fact, I can truly say this is the virtue that brought a girlfriend into my life who did not like me at all.

Who actually worried me? Know how does that work? Well, I'll tell you how that works.

Name all the stuff that was at 2.

It goes along with the virtue. I had to learn over my life patients, but patient is the ohm isn't the only thing there is something else in operation. It's called perseverance in anyone. Ask Diana to go. Yeah, that's one thing I noticed about you you persevere.

Please don't make me a liar.

There are times in life when we simply get to the point where we say, I can't take it anymore. I'm done. Is anyone ever been there?

This marriage is too hard with depression is too dark the job. I lost I lost all I had the family member. I just buried was the final straw the Pains of my joints are too much too much. I'm saying that one. I don't know if you're saying that one, but I'm saying that one past the Advil. Then we should have an Advil counter as we come in.

And when you come to that place when you just say, it's just too hard. I can't do this no more. Deep down inside your heart. You may not say it to anyone but something just starts to take root and it's like I'm so done.

I want to opt out. And maybe anger and bitterness sat in a certain sadness and uneasiness sets in.

But you're in your mind tells you things like you got to keep positive stay forward-thinking. You got to trust God the promises of God are are going to help me through. Everything's going to be okay, but your hearts and you know what I've heard that and it ain't working for me. Anyone here dare to say that. Yeah.

And when you get to a place like that all of a sudden there maybe some temptations that sneak their way into your mind. One wearing your wildest dreams as a Christian you would never think or even consider and they're now there. And they dance around in your mind and they start watching down into the roots of your heart and your spirit.

And you start considering and playing out some metal fantasies of some sort opting out. You wanted to opt out of your current situation at in for another. well That's the very place when someone starts to drift. What if you can turn me down just a little bit Ivan the wireless mic. Thanks, brother. Thank you. Well today I want to look at a group of people in the Bible who were experiencing that very thing. They were drifting they were drifting away from God and the spirit of God spoke to a writer who became known as the writer to the Hebrews. and the spirit spoke to this person because God's people were feeling those things. And he writes. Because there was some people under terrible circumstances real adversity difficulty. Some of them were exposed to public ridicule. They were beaten because they were Believers some of them were thrown into jail jails far worse than ours.

Chilling were forced out of their homes lost everything forced into Exile much weight. Like what's happening today in Africa? weather for Stout in Excel in Middle East forced out into Exile living in tent villages

But holy spirit knew their hearts, and he wanted to draw them back and give them hope. He wanted to give them a Heavenly perspective. He wanted to give them some reminders and so he reminded the readers of the book. Keep moving forward.

Keep persevering.

That's what I want to talk about today. So let's break. So father in Jesus name. when life is hard when life seems to have no place of focus when life all of a sudden seems like it's falling apart. Lord you already took care of that word for the book of Hebrews? and giving a word about Persevering about enduring endurance of father. I pray that today. This will be a good word for this church. This will be a good word for the life of the people here and pray this in the name of Jesus help me to bring this message to them and let it live within their lives. In Jesus name. Amen. You know what? I think the greatest word I can leave here with you today as you face the challenge of Diane and I leaving and fighting a new pastor is the same word that the writer the Hebrews heard from the holy spirit that they found in Hebrews 10 35 and 36. It's word of Hope and it says this average 35

So do not throw away your trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward will bring you.

In other words, don't opt out don't check out don't give up. Although the temporal discomfort is tough I get that but there's a great reward for you in the future. To the right of the Hebrews doesn't leave anyone hanging on how to do it how to get through. He says here's what you do. Holy spirit gives us a solution gives us the formula and sometimes we may not like it but holy spirit said this is how you're going to get through first 36 patient endurance is what you need now so that you will continue to do God's will then you will receive all that. He promised. He's not a good word. We don't like it. I'll tell you I'll tell you why I don't like it. The moment you have your Bibles open. I want you to circle the word in verse 36. verse 36 patient endurance It's a good important word to 17 times in the New Testament and during the Bible say we've been learning and we've been learning about important words how important words are for the contacts the future chapters actually. And how we've been laying the groundwork will this word is made up of two words endurance is made up of two words. It is opal mantle. Cooper mental and I see you I see dr. Margo doing this cuz she knows the Greek and that's made up of two words hoopoe or hyper or hypo like the word like hypodermic hypodermic hyper Under the Skin Derma under skin. That's where we from hypodermic. The second word meno is to abide or stay in a place of so the word Hoopa mental means abiding under. Abiding under and allowing yourself to take that weight. Alright stress and pain and and times like this surely when it hurts. papiamento enduring patient insurance

We had the same English words endurance perseverance patients standing firm waiting pressing in under difficult.

Opel Manta Batman getting back on my bike lately. At the push myself each time I go and every two weeks or so. I add an extra 5 minutes to my trip. Why because my quads that's these guys here. You see these ones are the biggest muscles in your in your body group, and they will do the most work for you. my quads At what? I'm ready to add to 5 minutes are going

My squad is screaming at the top of their lungs for me to stop off doubt. Quit. Just before I add those five minutes because they know what's coming on their telling me they're done. What I tell them you're not done. You need to poop a mental. bear under the extra time why because these things need to build up their endurance once again,

And my quads are screaming at me. I'm underpaying here. But I'm telling my quad you're going to Bear up under that pay and why because you're building up endurance and burning off the sugars that are attacking my body.

Keep pressing ahead. Well, they're calling it quits this morning church. I know what you're going through. You're going through some change now some difficulty some adversity some challenge some pain and anguish and it's easy for anyone to say I'm off to go but your God is saying no store. No Shores church. I haven't finished with you yet. It's time to call Mendel. Calendar that adversity and bear it up. Because you can do it. This is what life's all about. Now it's time for you to have insurance you say I hate having to push my quads. But I know what the future reward will be when I do so. Even Jesus had two hoop on mantle. Hebrews 12:3 says this think of all the hostility Jesus endure to a word. from simple people and then you won't pick up and give up.

he faced adversity difficulty Challenge from people during his ministry, but he who pimento in overtime

he cartas how to rise up under adversity adversity and Challenge and difficulties are just bad in themselves. Most of us spend our energy dealing with adversity trying to avoid it trying to deny it trying to sedate it trying to blame it on someone else instead of asking God to use it to make us who he wants us to be.

In overtime the learning here for me is a great reward that God has for us actually comes in The Mists of our difficulty University another words. Are adversity is actually the tool God uses to make us who we actually are and who we want us to be.

Because God has a great plan for us to strengthen Us in mature is so he uses our our difficulties are challenges our setbacks in this life for us to actually learn Hoople Manor.

Keep pressing ahead. No matter what and some of you if you were honest. You may not feel like pressing ahead. You may feel like opting out in your difficulty. Can I say this? Don't do it? I don't know what your difficulty might be today. Apriso had to I want to leave it with four principles. I learned in life in order to persevere. I don't know honey. I don't know where I learned it. But I just kept in high school did night. Hey Skip that I even changed. My my lunch. So I could be with you. Did you know that and you did everything in your power to avoid me a mint like the Dead?

I think every person needs a good stalker to don't you think.

I stalked her until I took her to the altar a man and you know what? Yeah, you stole my Thunder God for you. That's good. That's good.

Their work Direction principles. I've learned in life to have patient endurance even when it has been difficult. And it's been adversarial. I don't know about you, but sometimes in life things are apis Ariel. Turn the law the law that I was trained under is a training to be adversarial. That's what the law does. It's an adversarial law. I had a friend of mine teach me that.

So first principle principal one when I say I can't go on that is actually good.

I will get us to the place where we say we can't go on. He says good that's exactly where I want you to be. because now you're going to learn Philippians 4:13 it says I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.

Do you know who said that? Who said that? Paul Paul the Apostle. Can anyone tell me what Paul the Apostle went through?

Where do you start go ahead start naming them present? stoned Shipwrecked whoopings rods

snake Thorn in his side. and in all that here's the man that says I've had it. but Daddy Do everything through Christ who gives me the strength to do it so good. Stop thinking you can do things on your own because you can't. Oh you might think or I can do this on my own strength. I will do it on my own terms, you know, you can but God can through you and look at the one who gives you strength to go through adversity. And here's the him we sing Turn Your Eyes toward Jesus. How does it go?

Yes, amen.

Don't they? At exactly yet. Isn't that what we're saying? Well, that's principal one principle to the second third and fourth principles come simply out of a song a song of David Psalm 34 the author of some of the greatest teachings in the Bible and trims how to make it through difficult times has David. Oh he had difficult times. He's teaching his principles. He live by. Yes. He was King. Yes, he was powerful but he went through some of the most devastating challenges in his life where he actually had his kids wanted to kill him and he wanted to duck wherever he could. So this is what he teaches us.

And yeah, I got to realize that David's problems were brought on by himself. Yeah, okay. However a great majority of the Psalms were written by this guy and we were given the privilege to hear is inner thigh. This is what he says.

So the first principal I can do all things through Christ. The second one is this so I'm 34 18. The Lord is close to the Brokenhearted. He rescues those whose Spirits are crushed.

Was a big part of what God is doing in adversity versuri to Second point. He's getting us to admit we need him. We need him. Have you ever had a crush spirit? Have you ever had someone betray you for reasons away only? No betray your trust difficulty comes in and there are things that you just can't control. God promises to take that broken heart and make something incredibly incredibly amazing out of that in your life if you want to know what gets

What gets me through?

God you know what's going on in them, but it's crushing my spirit. I have prayed that so many times. When is crushing my spirit? And God is close to the Brokenhearted. And he knows you're brokenhearted and he wants to do this. He wants to get you weaned off of yourself dependency and get you weaned on to him.

UC

what do you have to do?

You have to Usher yourself into a time of intimacy with God all I understand that might make men feel a little bit. Skizzy

I have to be wife to get intimate. Yeah, man. We can get intimate. We can. I know this is going to sound weird, but then we are the bride of Christ.

As well as the lady see the ladies they can handle that. They understand that man. We don't understand what it means to be Brides.

I don't want understand. What are ways to be a bride and bride of Christ and God calls us to get intimate with him get close get in allow your broken heart to be seen by the Lord. Don't press it down as dealing with that this week. Don't get pressed down in brokenheartedness. That's where the enemy wants you.

UC He wants to Usher you and I into a place of intimacy intimacy. So deep he wants to heal a broken heart. I've crushed spirit. I can only speak for myself, but I've had my spirit crushed. What he wants all that difficulty to drive you to him. You know what the enemy wants to do I do away from him.

That's what he wants. So you get to choose. Do I drive to or will I drive away?

So, you know what I have to do. I have to admit that I need him and I'm broken. And this is what happened in times of the writing a book of Hebrews. It was so bad people were leaving the faith. They weren't going to church. They weren't meeting with other believers. They didn't want to change but that's all simple Pride. That's all that is. Guess what the Velvet Vice of adversity just gets harder and harder and harder until you admit that you need Jesus. And one feels more broken. I'll tell you this one feels more broken. when they don't admit that they need.

I'll tell you. Someone wisely said when you finally hit rock bottom in your Brokenness, there's only one place to go up or I'll tell you something you talked to anyone who's ever had an addiction.

And they'll tell you the same story until you come to the end of yourself admit that you're broken until you hit rock bottom. You're only playing games and you're going nowhere and I'm sure John you've heard that with Pauline many of times and cncc.

You know what AA was created out of a Lutheran movement called the Oxford Group and the beginning of AA. Jesus was their answer.

And this is the core of the first three steps in AA and here they are we admitted we were powerless over our addiction over alcohol our lives have become unmanageable came to believe that a power greater than ourselves. I wonder who that would be.

Could restore us and we made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God and what they were doing was admitting that they would reach their rock bottom and Jesus Is The Answer 8 minutes? Here's the third principal. The first I can do anything through Christ second is unit you admit that you need them. And when you realize you can't do things on your own strength, you're learning to get to the place where David was so notice what David said and psalm 34:17.

The Lord hears his people when they cry to him for help. He rescues them out of their troubles.

Please what see what the verse is really saying David didn't just say a prayer. He agonized over it. He didn't just quietly and kindly say the lord. Well, you know Lord Absalom is wanting to kill me at 8 to take my Ministry away. And and I've got people in the Kingdom that just want to destroy me o add someone's got an army of

What it says here?

What's to do?

What are you doing? So friend if you think that David was just getting a little bit senile in his old age.

Shopping in his later years. I want you to think of this Hebrews 5 7 and 8.

Well, Jesus was here on Earth. He offered prayers and pleadings with. loud cries and tears to the one who could rescue him from death and God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence God.

First one is this.

He offered up prayers. I don't think Jesus. I don't think Jesus. Was one that just said while getting father to his another day Ministry. Jesus or father is as Jesus speaking, and I know you and we have a Ministry to do know I Think Jesus. It is Daisy. I can't do this.

Although he was a son that goes on to say that he learned obedience through the things he suffered folks. That's adversity that's challenge. Jesus was fully God perfect. Never send should have gone through adversity at all, but he did why because he was fully human with us.

Who was living in the same Fallen World We Are? He was the total righteous when the full package yet. He went through adversity.

Buddy Walk with the father and blazed the trail not in his deity, but it is full Humanity while having DD. He was just like us and all points yet without sin.

You see if you would see Jesus and we were over here and he was over there but a stone's throw.

I think this is what he be saying.

So father I can't take it anymore. The people betrayed me the not responding. I don't know what to do. I feel tempted. She was crying out to God. Notice it says in the days, but the day this wasn't just the end of his life.

Iris in Flash He went through what you and I went through. people betrayed him and you know how why he was heard not because he was DD. What does it say? He was heard because of his reverent submission to God. Because you was gone, but just like us if we have a reverent submission to God. God hears our prayers you want to know the answer to answer to prayer. You try reverent submission fully. Who play games? I can't play games reverent submission father. I submit my life to you. No matter how hard it looks. I don't know where I'm going. I know what I'm doing, but father, I just know that I know that I know that I have to move. The Lord I love this place one. Oh wait, I need you to do what you need to do. reverent submission principal for is believing that God can deliver us out of our troubles.

We turn to Psalm 34:19 King David says. Righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. Come to the rescue anybody need to be rescued every once in awhile.

This feel like I'm on it. I'm on a platform all by myself. There is a gap on both sides and I cannot get off this platform. Only God Can rescue you no one else can make a try.

Saudi David says the righteous person may have trouble but the Lord delivers them from them all to see if we need to believe he is still that deliver.

Superman but we need to believe not just intellectually. We need to believe in the depths of our spirit that God is a deliverer, right?

The righteous person David is talking about isn't a bad person. They are righteous there. The people are saying God. I want to do life your way. I want to love people the way you do Lord. I want my life to be exactly what you wanted to be. folks I know many people they just want the Assurance of Salvation want the pathway to God, whatever you call it, but they don't want to do life God's way while I'll tell you something. It doesn't work that way. reverent submission Remeron submission David was saying Lord. Why are they coming after me? Why are they making my life miserable? You know why because David wanted to do life God's way and Satan will make sure that you know that he's going for you.

cheapest affordable bleeding God can deliver a set of my troubles many of the afflictions the difficulties of pains are hardships that that that righteous people go through but the second half of the versus The Lord will deliver you out of them all. Because that's a promise of the word of God. Because Wayne says it because Holy Spirit set it to David. I will deliver you out of all of it. But you've got to believe not intellectually, but into the depths of your spirit and God will bring you to the place of the depths of your spirit. You know what that takes? I like you. Tell me you know what that takes.

patient endurance

you're going to leave here and you're going to say at least I know one Greek word.

The other one is hoop attachment. Only remember that when I was only a year-and-a-half ago who potassium annoy.

being under submission

I was waiting for that one. hoop attachment Being under submission to one another submitting to one another that's out of Ephesians 4 No, 5 and 19. Dr. Marcus going to write good.

You say God's not done on us. Future Good Shepherd, you said that he cares about you? You really wants to help us? The folks these principles I practice in life not always. perfectly for the most part I tried.

I've learned to respond to adversity struggles that I've had in my life. Not just the past it but all my life, you know, I don't want you to feel sorry for me for being blind in one eye. That's a hard life to live kids. Don't take too kindly. Teenagers don't take your timer. But that's the way it goes. These are the cards that are dealt, but this is how I did to deal with them and I believe that God used A diversity to teach me so that one day I might be teaching you how to live a life. When you have a bad cereal. You see that's perseverance patient Insurance. That's the basics looks and they said most of us spend our time trying to deal with adversity trying to avoid it deny. It sedated trying to blame it on someone else instead of asking God lord. Can you use can you use that to make me better someone you want me to be?

I can't but he can I believe God wants to help me. I admit that I need his help and then at the level like never before I cry out to God when things are so tight and so tough. I've got nowhere else to go. Saying good. That's why I want you to be want you to Crave to me.

Lord is near to the Brokenhearted and I'll tell you what I look back on my life. Not remember some things. I remember my Melissa at SickKids Hospital.

She was literally and far as I was concerned dying in front of us with a disease called.

Oh gosh gastroenteritis. She couldn't keep anything down for a week. She was so lethargic. And we did not when we cried out. I was just a new Christian. How do you know what I actually prayed in King James father I come to thee. Krypton servant

but he heard the cry. remember my Becky when she was 16, she was going down the wrong path and I could see it and we were just broken and we got together. We got our knees at 208 McNulty in Hamilton. We got to our knees and we said God she's going down the wrong path got to help us cuz there's nothing we can do a half hour later. She had come back to the house making a decision. I am so sorry Mom and Dad. I'm so sorry. I was going down the wrong path and she came back and from that day forward. She started serving the lord. I need to tell you one more. Opal mental I didn't even know about this when my wife Diana was giving birth to Becky. What was the wonderful time but it was a bad time. You see my wife Diana after the delivery. The bleeding wouldn't stop you see Diana when she was 16 years old, they found out that she had platelet deficiency. And I don't know if you know what platelet deficiency is, but that's the blood clotting mechanism in your body. So when she had Becky. The blood was flowing out so bad. You would think that she broken her surgery? And I'm standing there and I'm looking in her eyes and literally just in front of my eyes. She went Ashen gray and you know what that is and just has that happened her eyes closed and she was slipping away. That's the truth of God. And there I was I didn't know what to do. I try to go to God so hard I cried to the nurses and you never saw nurses and staff fly so fast. And they tried to revive her and bring her back, but what I did. I cried out so hard. I didn't even make a sound. Have you ever cried that hard? Has anyone done that? I couldn't I didn't even hear myself, but I could hear myself screaming. and the Lord heard decries

I didn't say a little prayer that day. I was screaming when I wasn't making a sound folks. I've been called out of this church. I no longer have a vision for the shores and that's how most pastors know when their time is done. But yours isn't and you may be feeling the adversity of the loss of Pastor, but don't look at me isn't deliver you. Look at Jesus as your deliverer. everyone of you

The enemy will push you to opt out but cry out to the Lord for a new pastor who has a new vision for this place Hoople memo.

Know that you can't do this on you know on your own know that you need Jesus cry out to the Lord. He hears the cries of the righteous. No one admit that you need him now and just believe

Father in a moment. We're going to be having a time where

we're going to be eating we're going to be celebrating. We're going to be having a time of get together. We are going to be the church, which is a church of Fellowship.

father father weak right now What is chapter 7?

What's under shriven rise up now to take their place in this place father. Will you bring the one who will have vision? For the next worse in this place. I pray that God we don't wind up. I pray that we move forward.

Can I play with these people because this is your church? Addiction but will not Prevail against it. You said that word so father reminding you of your word, I pray that people come together with a unified spirit will say yes. I will I will stand up I will be working to be counted. I will put my name on that back wall and I will be a part of this church and cry out and pray for the new person you're bringing.

I pray God people won't opt up cuz it's easy. I pray they Hoople mental today. And Lord we pray that. in the mighty name of the one who died for this place Jesus Christ

Father we pray we crawl out. My prayer over the next few weeks that we people gathering together to cry out to you for the next person coming here. We pray that this place will be incredible. So incredible, it will rise into a new place that you have for them Father. I want to thank you now for giving me the vision I've had for 9 years. I want to thank you for the job that you're coming to dude. You're told me it's done. I thank you Father. I thank you Father for these folks who have Stood Beside Me in Ministry. And it's damn that I honor before you. I would ask that God you would give them a vision as well one that will be coupled with the pastor that will work with the pastor the new one coming. And Lord, I know that person is coming. I pray now in the name of Jesus for that and everyone said amen I bless.
