LOVES REWARD

Mark 16:1-7

INTRODUCTION

Story of an angel who visited earth. Took back three things:

(1) Flowers; (2) babies smile; (3) woman's love.

Notice the love of these women and its reward.

DISCUSSION:

CONSIDER THE LOVE THEY HAD.

It put the men to shame. Mark 12:41-42.

Faced difficulties. Mark 16:3.

First to render service. Luke 24:9-10.

Unselfish. John 19:39-40; Mark 16:1.

FACTS ABOUT THEIR LOVE.

It was greater than faith or hope. 1 Cor 13.

Love is common to God and man.

Love lives while faith struggles.

Spices show their faith and hope are dead.

Love is under the law.

Luke 23:56; John 14:15; 1 John 2:3-4.

Life must go on.

Not satisfied with what others had done. Jn 19:39.

THEIR LOVE IS REWARD.

Only because they obeyed. Mark 16:1.

Suppose they had come Saturday?

Saw an angel. Luke 24:3-10.

First to find Christ alive.

First to tell the good news. Luke 24:9-10.

Conclusion:

Last to leave the cross; first to the tomb.

Promise was fulfilled. Mark 16:7.

Jesus is coming again. Acts 1:10-11.

We must follow him in death;

If we follow him in life,

We will be ready to follow him in death and life everlasting.
