Philippi---
Thessalonica----
Berea---- Acts 17:10-14
Epaphroditus was the carrier of the letter.
He had brought Paul a gift from Philippi to begin with and he had gotten sick so Paul was letting them know he was better and was giving thanks for him.
In prison in Rome around 60ad surrounded by evil and wicked men
Paul advances the Gospel through his prison sentencing to all those who are around him.
All those who are around him are other prisoners and disciples along the way but mainly the guards.
These guards were the Praetorium guards, the governors guards.
These men were the Governors guards.
The best of the best.
They switched out every four hours and they would chain themselves to Paul.
They are able to speak the word with more confidence and without fear.
That fear would be the governor killing them for speaking that way
As we know in Acts Paul would be singing and preaching in jail.
So hes letting Philippi know that through his sentencing the gospel of Christ was being spread abundantly and that he was thankful for being in chains.
vs 15
Their were men preaching of jealousy because of the calling that paul had was much different than others.
But through envy and jealousy the Gospel was still being preached and lives were being changed daily
It doesnt matter what you have or dont have or whether people may try to do a better job then you or do it out of envy or spite you to can advance the gospel with all means neccessary
