Do You Remember?

A couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things. During a checkup, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember.
Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. "Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?" he asks.
"Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?"
"Sure.."
"Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?" she asks.
"No, I can remember it."
"Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so as not to forget it?"
He says, "I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries."
"I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it down?" she asks.
Irritated, he says, "I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!"
Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, The old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs.. She stares at the plate for a moment.
"Where's my toast?"

Ginosko- is to know God intimately.

Dumanis-Miraculous power

Sadducees could not understand Jesus because they did not have the revelation of the scriptures or the power of God.

The purpose the Holy Spirit being poured out was to give us power to minister to others.
Jesus was empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Luke 3:21-22
Luke 3:21–22 NLT
21 One day when the crowds were being baptized, Jesus himself was baptized. As he was praying, the heavens opened, 22 and the Holy Spirit, in bodily form, descended on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.”
Luke 4;
Luke 4:18–19 NLT
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, 19 and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”
When Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit there was a power present to preach the good news, to help those who were captive to be released, to heal the blind, and set those who were oppressed free.
A witness is someone who has experienced the truth and will share the truth with others as a testimony.

Jesus said we would be Baptized in the Holy Spirit

There are many things that Jesus told His disciples before He left.
He told them that they would do greater works than they saw him do.
He told them to wait until they were Baptized in the Holy Spirit because this was the power for them to be a witness.

When were they Baptized in the Holy Spirit?

Scriptures says that they Holy Spirit came into the place they were gathering and the walls shook.
What seemed like tongues of fire settled on each of them and they began to speak in other tongues.
Tongues-Glossa-a language supplied by the Lord and it was the gate to the New Covenant being poured out.
Yes they spoke in other tongues. They did not understand what they were saying.
1 Corinthians 14:2 NLT
2 For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.
I Corinthians
One of the initial signs of the being Baptized with the Holy Spirit was praying in a language that God gave us that that does not make sense to the mind.

So what Happened after this Baptism Experience?

The Apostles became witnesses to what Jesus did and the New Covenant.
They spoke of Jesus with boldness, they healed people, and fulfilled there mandate on the earth.

Who is Ready for the Power of God? Who is ready to Be a Witness? Then its time to be filled with the Holy Spirit!
