Jesus Will Ask The Father

Since Jesus is no longer on earth, we need someone who can help us with the mission of God. God sent Jesus to redeem humanity. God will send the Holy Spirit to guide humanity. Jesus knows that what is needed we cannot accomplish on our own. He will ask the Father and the Father will send the Holy Spirit

The Father Will Send The Spirit

God always answers the prayer of the Son. This shows the perfect unity of the Trinity. They are all one in agreement in all things. This is why the Father will grant whatever the Son requests. This is a beautiful picture of the Trinity.

The Spirit Will Come To Help

He Is Our Helper

When the Fathepr sends the Holy Spirit, He will willingly come. He will be our parakletos . This means someone whop is called in. For example when a troop has been on the battle field for a long time, they will get weary and tired. The commanding officer will send another troop in to fight along side the tired troop to win the battle. This is the way the Holy Spirit helps us. We are in a spiritual battle every day. We are going to get tired. When we get tired, the Holy Spirit is there to help us win the battle.
12 For our struggle is not against [e]flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
When you are tired and get fatigued in your battles call on the Holy Spirit to come and help. The Spirit will come and help accomplish God’s purpose.

He Will be With Us Forever

When you receive the Holy Spirit, He will be with you forever. This means that he is with you right now and will be with you at all times. There will never be a time when will be alone. The presence of the Holy Spirit is with you.
Are you able to discern the instruction of the Holy Spirit?

He Is the Spirit Of Truth

He will never contradict the Word of God. He will use the word of God to help us discern truth in every situation we face. It is one thing to understand the principles of God’s word. It is another thing to apply God’s word. The Holy Spirit teaches us how to engage God’s word into our everyday living.

The World Cannot Receive Him

Only people that have a relationship with Jesus Christ receive the Holy Spirit. The “world” (those who do not know Jesus) cannot receive Him because they cannot see Him or know Him. The world can only depend on their flesh. They have no spiritual vitality. The are dead spiritually. They cannot hear the Holy Spirit.

Christians Will Know Him

The reason Christians will know Him is because He lives inside us. The residence of the Holy Spirit is within our heart. Not our physical heart, but in the innermost part of our being. It is where our will comes from. The Holy Spirit communicates the will of the Father to our spirit.

3 Things The Holy Spirit Will Do

Convict the world of sin.

The predominate sin that the holy Spirit convicts people of is unbelief. It is the sin of unbelief in Jesus Christ as God’s only son that sends a person to hell. Our sin does not end us there. A person can straighten there life out morally and still go to hell. Only Faith in Jesus can keep a person from going to hell. The Holy Spirit calls people to belief in Jesus Christ for salvation.

Convict the world of righteousness

The Spirit convicts us to do righteous deeds. Just as Jesus led the disciples into righteous works, the Holy Spirit will guide us into the righteous works he has for us.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Convict the World of Judgement

This is not our own personal Judgment. This is the judgement of Satan. Jesus stands in judgement of Satan and will send him to the lake of fire. Satan’s defeat means that we are loosed from the strongholds we may have. The Holy SPirit liberates us.
