Sheep need a shepherd. They need someone to save them.

Let's admit right up front that it’s not all that complimentary that the Lord calls us sheep. It would have stroked our egos if He would have said: we are strong as horses, swift as gazelles, beautiful as peacocks, or as brave as lions!
But, instead, He said we are like sheep.
Wait, let me correct that. He said, “we are ALL like sheep”
The Lord is comparing us, not to the soaring eagle, the mighty bear, or the clever and intelligent dog. No, he looks at us and says we’re ALL like sheep.
