Paul told Titus to “teach what is in accord with sound doctrine”.
Sound Doctrine must lead to ethical conduct in the lives of all the people in the church.

The Christian message isn’t compelling or attractive.
So Paul paints the ideal Cretan christian household, that is devoted to Jesus.
Paul is making a fine line here.
He believes that the gospel of Jesus needs to prove it’s redemptive power in the public square, if it’s really going to transform Cretan culture.
This is not going to happen by Christians cloistering away from urban live.
It don’t help if we isolate our self form the community.
we need to be present and show that we have different value system and devoted to a different God.

Elder Men
V 1-2 be temperate, Worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith
Elder Women
V 3-5 - reverent in the way they live, to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, and teach what is good.
Young men / women
V 6-8 love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled , pure, busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands
Show integrity, seriousness
Slaves
V 9-10 to be subject to their masters , try to please them, not to talk back to them, not to steal from them, show that they can be fully trusted.
This is the content of our faith.
We must be grounded in the truth of the bible.
Learn the bible, study theology, apply the biblical principles, and do what you learn.
So that it will result in change of attitude.
