Where will I be in a year in 10 years in 50 years if the Lord tarries
Where will my family be
Where will my Church be?
To determine where I am going I must ask...
I) Where am I Looking? (vs 1-2)
I) Where am I Looking? (vs 1-2)
Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord:
Look unto the rock whence ye are hewn,
And to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.
Where am I going?
Looking Godward
Looking Godward
Look Forward- What is right to do
Look Up- What are God’s Desires and Wants, What is God doing?
Look Back- Back at where God has taken you from and what He has done
Look unto Abraham your father,
And unto Sarah that bare you:
For I called him alone,
And blessed him, and increased him.
Looking Manward

Look to Godly Example
Isaiah 5:
To determine where I am going I must ask...
Where am I looking and...
II) What am I waiting for? (Vs 3-5)
II) What am I waiting for? (Vs 3-5)
And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah,
Judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.
For the Lord shall comfort Zion:
He will comfort all her waste places;
And he will make her wilderness like Eden,
And her desert like the garden of the Lord;
Joy and gladness shall be found therein,
Thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
Waiting for the Lord’s Return
Waiting for the Lord’s Return
Waiting for his comfort
Waiting for his joy and gladness
Giving thanks and Praise while waiting
Thanking him in advance
Therefore hell hath enlarged herself,
And opened her mouth without measure:
And their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp,
And he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
Hearken unto me, my people;
And give ear unto me, O my nation:
For a law shall proceed from me,
And I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.
Waiting for the Lord’s Direction
Waiting for the Lord’s Direction
Waiting on guidance from his Word
Waiting on Revelation by his Holy Spirit
Waiting on light where things are unclear
My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth,
And mine arms shall judge the people;
The isles shall wait upon me,
And on mine arm shall they trust.
Waiting on the Lord’s Deliverance
Waiting on the Lord’s Deliverance
Seeking the salvation and deliverance of God
Waiting on his vengeance and judgment
Waiting on God to provide for needs
To determine where I am going I must ask...
Where am I looking and...
What am I waiting for...
III) What am I afraid of? (vs 6-8)
III) What am I afraid of? (vs 6-8)
Lift up your eyes to the heavens,
And look upon the earth beneath:
For the heavens shall vanish away like smoke,
And the earth shall wax old like a garment,
And they that dwell therein shall die in like manner:
But my salvation shall be for ever,
And my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Isaiah 51:6
Fear of Material Loss
Fear of Material Loss
The Spiritual is the Eternal
God’s Righteousness is Eternal
Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness,
The people in whose heart is my law;
Fear ye not the reproach of men,
Neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
For the moth shall eat them up like a garment,
And the worm shall eat them like wool:
But my righteousness shall be for ever,
And my salvation from generation to generation.
Fear of Man
Fear of Man
The Reproach of men
The Reviling of men
To determine where I am going I must ask...
Where am I looking...
What am I waiting for...
What am I afraid of and...
IV) Who Am I Turning to? (vs 9-12a)
IV) Who Am I Turning to? (vs 9-12a)
Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord;
Awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old.
Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?
The Lord of Past Victories
Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep;
That hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?
The Lord of the Impossible
The Lord of the Impossible
Who do I turn to with problems, frustrations, dilemmas
Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return,
And come with singing unto Zion;
And everlasting joy shall be upon their head:
They shall obtain gladness and joy;
And sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
The Lord immutable
The Lord immutable
The Lord immutable
We move away from Him and so we must return
The Lord worthy of Praise
The Lord giver of Joy
The Lord our Comforter
Who do I turn to for joy
Who do I turn to for comfort
