Matthew 4:18–22 KJV 1900
18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. 21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. 22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
So over the past several weeks we have gone down a long road to revival. Let’s review the stops along the way:
We must Return to God Return to Your First Love Return to Prayer Return to God’s Word Return to Unity
Now we need to get back to doing what it is we are called to do and that is evangelize the lost!
How we Return to God Return to Your First Love Return to Prayer Return to God’s Word Return to Unity
Before you can do that you must first surrender!
It is interesting to note that Matthew doesn’t give an account of his calling. We find that in Mark and Luke.

Surrender changes the outcome

we have seen in history of people who have changed sides because they new the outcome was going to be in favor of their opponent.
The story has been written and we know who wins the final battle: Jesus!
Yet there are still some here today that refuse to swap sides.
Surrendering to the call of Jesus will change your outcome
These men that we see here today heard, and heeded the invitation Jesus gave them. they submitted to his request and their outcome was changed
we are called to be disciples and to spread the word
There was an immediate reaction from Andrew and Peter, James and John, Philip and Matthew
They made a choice, a conscious choice to leave behind what they knew and follow a man because they knew their lives would be different.
they couldn’t explain it completely
surrender to the calling of God changes your outcome but it also changes the outcome of others around you as well.
Jesus said “I will make you fishers of men”
that means you are called to be a witness for Christ
you are to share the Gospel, spread the gospel, live the gospel
if you will submit to that then lives will be changed and souls will be saved and God will be glorified.

Surrender changes the outlook

look at Nathaniel in
John 1:46 KJV 1900
46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
his outlook was one of sarcasm and doubt
Yeah right, I’ve been to Nazareth, there is nothing good there much less the Messiah!
But when he came into contact with God’s son, his outlook was changed!
I believe this church is primed for revival! I believe this community is primed for revival, I believe this county is primed for revival. But first you need to come into contact with Jesus Christ!
When you surrender to the calling of Jesus it will change your outlook on who He is
It will change the outlook on your life
It will change the outlook about the people around you

Surrender changes the outpouring

When you surrender to Christ, you are allowing Him to pour into you. The more he pours into you, the more that pours out of you, into other people.
The outpouring of blessings from God to you
the outpouring of love for God from you
The outpouring of love for others
