1-3
We all face an “enemy”
our sin
other people’s sin
Our goal is to be faithful before God
“shame” is dishonoring God
shame is not the embarrassment before man or the world
shame is following our own ideas and wisdom and doing something foolish that dishonors God
shame is when we have to go back and own up to the damage we’ve caused due to our sin
Our prayer is that we want to know God’s will and obey him faithfully so that whatever happens, he will judge us to be faithful
Job suffered the greatest affliction
he was mocked and accused by his friends, but he was not put to shame
God ultimately vindicated him before his accusers
