Identity in Christ

Who and I and why am I here?

Alignment proceeds assignment

Once your aligned with your God given identity, you are ready for your assignment.

Your status and what you can do have nothing to do with who you are.

Who you are in Christ is who you are, what you are able to do are gifts He has given to you.

“what if you were bound to a bed with the inability to speak, what would your value be to God”?

What would you mean to Him then?

When we begin to grasp our value to God and our identity in Him, we will begin to see the value and identity of others.

NASB

Yet You have made him a little lower than God,

And You crown him with glory and majesty!

You make him to rule over the works of Your hands;

You have put all things under his feet,

 All sheep and oxen,

And also the [b]beasts of the field,

The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea,

Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

O Lord, our Lord,

How majestic is Your name in all the earth!

9 O Lord, our Lord,

How majestic is Your name in all the earth!

Imagine if we saw our children, our husband, our friends…our enemies, all of them that way- seated right under the Son.

How would we treat them.

How would we treat ourselves?

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

So God created mankind in his own image,

in the image of God he created them;

male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earthand subdue it.

Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,

male and female he created them.

Here- they are shown their worth before they are given their assignment.

28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earthand subdue it.

Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

We get this so confused, we think our giftings or assigment(s) are our worth or contribute to our value- no, they have nothing to do with it.
