Scripture: Isaiah 9:2-7

2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. 3 You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as warriors rejoice when dividing the plunder.

4 For as in the day of Midian’s defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor. 5 Every warrior’s boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire.
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

What is Darkness?
Are you living in darkness?
Meriam Webster dictionary has many meanings for darkness . I choose to use the meanings og gloom, and not having a clear understanding.
I believe that in someway,some of us or all of us are living in darkness.. This darkness are the many questions in our lives that we dont have answers for and there dont seem to see a way out of.
Types: It may be an illness that you or your family member is going through. Your financesare short and the day is long There is something going on in our lives that we dont have the answer to. Each one of us us have our own personal issuees I call it designer darkness , because they are design by God to take us where he wants to get us to.
We can find many stories in the Bible.Josep in the pit, Daniel in the lions den, the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnice. David in the valley of death, the disciples in the boat with Jesus.Jesus through a dark time for us.

I believe that the great light that is spoken of is a ray of hope in the midst of darkness. We think of Joseph in the pit, those young men a c ouple of years ago in the cave under ground, sunrise at the beach and while driving.
