1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming. 7 In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. 8 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. 11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. 12 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

All day, everyday we are acting, interacting, and reacting to others.
Q - How should we?
How we act, interact, and react to others is a big deal, not to be taken lightly. We are either displaying the light of the gospel of Jesus or displaying darkness.

Q - Isn’t it odd that we know what to do in our walk with Jesus, but still don’t do it??

Q - What do we mean when we say “looks different?”
A - An inward change takes place.
The indicatives of the gospel (who we are by virtue of God’s grace) drive the imperatives for our lives (what we should do in accordance with God’s Word)

Q - What do we mean when we say “looks different?”
When we focus and zone in on Jesus, because we have been raised with Jesus, the characteristics of Jesus are automatically displayed.
A - An inward change takes place.
What he/she seeks.
What he/she focuses on.
What you need to understand is that the characteristics are not the main thing, seeking Jesus and knowing Jesus is. How we interact to others is just the immediate result of seeking Jesus.
What he/she puts off.
What he/she puts on.
TRUTH: A person that has been raised with Jesus seeks Jesus.

Respond
We cannot put on characteristics if we’re possessing something else.
Example: Compassionate if we’re angry.
____________
Being successful. What is it? Achieving a goal.
What does it take to be successful? Implementing the steps it takes to reach the goal.
Success doesn’t happen automatically. In order to reach “success”, there has to be something causing the movement to get there.
This applies to our Christianity in a way. In order to be successful in our walk with Christ, there’s a movitating push. Without the motivational push that enables us to seek Jesus, it’s nothing more than going through the motivations and religion.
TRUTH: Seeking Jesus is an overflow of being raised with Jesus
In Christ, we function off of someone else’s success - Jesus. Jesus’ victory in His resurrection is credited to His through faith.
A: No motivational push to grow
What do I do?
A: You have been raised!
