Those who live in Christ gain the Victory. ()
14 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.[1]
- It was a joy to know brother Bill. And a joy to hear stories about his life.
- Certainly brother Bill Loved the Lord, and was proud to tell people about it. With all the excuses we can come up with to miss worship Brother Bill was there even when he was sick, hurting, or tired.
- Heaven is a prepared place for prepared people and Brother Bill was a prepared man ready to spend eternity with Jesus.
- I think about the song Onward Christian Soldier. Brother Bill was a soldier in many ways.
- He was a veteran of WWII. A true example of what is called the greatest Generation. Those who fought back some of the greatest evil the world had ever seen.
- He was also a veteran of another War. The War of Faith. He was a soldier who fought on the side of Christ for the truth of the Gospel. He raised his daughter Glenda whom he loved to know the Lord.
- If there is one thing I learned about Brother Bill it is that he did not sit still for long. He was going to be busy doing something. He was active man even in his 90s he was always on the go. He loved. To Garden and we talked about that some at church every Sunday during the summer, He loved to Hunt and had quite an impressive antler collection to proud of it.
He also had a great sense of humor and loved to have fun. Many years ago Brother Brother Bill, killed a huge beaver. And while to most people there might not be much to do with it, but for Bro, Bill. He had a prank to play in mind. He filed the garbage can up just enough to so that the giant beaver would sit right on top. He knew when the garbage truck ran, so he go down behind the Bushes and waited and watched as the garbage man removed the lid. The Guy did not dissapoint. He Hollered and ran and brother Bill ran out from behind the Bushes just laughing and then the garbage man started laughing and from that day on he would akso kinda slowly lift that lid before picking up the can again for a long time and he always got a kick out of that.
Those who live in Christ enter a Final Rest
- Brother Bill was at peace with his life.
- He worked hard to meet the needs of his family
- He worked hard in service to his country
- He was truly a great Christian man.
- IN the last few months he had been sick, and endured pain that went along with his illness, but again he would not be stopped from being on the go. He came home from the hospital ready to get out and Mow the lawn!
- But Never Again will he suffer, never again will he feel pain, never again will he hurt, never again will he be sick, For he is at Peace, He now knows complete. Rest, and health, and comfort in the Lord.
Where He has gone now, we cannot visit, But one day We will see him again if we live the life that he lived, that Is a Lie Found in Christ.
I Go to prepare a. place for you, If I go to prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, There you may be also.
He is seeing things in this moment we cannot begin to comprehend, for while we are still here on this old earth. We mourn his loss, honor his memory.
I would like you to close your eyes and image his smile right now as you imagine, for just a moment, The smile on Brother Bills face as he saw the face of our Lord and heard the words, Well Done, Thou Good and Faithful Servant, Enter into to the Joy of the Lord. Now as you open your eyes keep that image of Brother Bill smiling as your memory of him, For He has Overcome and he is waiting to see you, and the smile that. You will have when arrive and see him.
