God is not a Jerk!!!!
And you are not Fatherless
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8 “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
9 “Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone?
10 “Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?
11 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

Watchman Nee tells about a new convert who came in deep distress to see him. "No matter how much I pray, no matter how hard I try, I simply cannot seem to be faithful to my Lord. I think I'm losing my salvation." Nee said, "Do you see this dog here? He is my dog. He is house-trained; he never makes a mess; he is obedient; he is a pure delight to me. Out in the kitchen I have a son, a baby son. He makes a mess, he throws his food around, he fouls his clothes, he is a total mess. But who is going to inherit my kingdom? Not my dog; my son is my heir. You are Jesus Christ's heir because it is for you that He died." We are Christ's heirs, not through our perfection but by means of His grace.

Here we see Jesus dealing with position, placement and sonship.
I have so say that sonship is about position and relationship.
It is God’s dream and desire to make us sons and daughters but we have to come into that position.
God created us to be in this position with Him.
Look at
7 Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”
Notice this formation, “and God formed man”. The Hebrew word for “formed” is the word yâtsar, which means to mold into a form, especially as a potter. Here we see the Potter, the Father molding mankind not just into anything but into His own image and likeness.
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
God Himself formed man and then He breathed into him. In Hebrew the word for “soul” is the word Nephesh meaning breath.
God Himself formed man and then He breathed into him.
In Hebrew the word for “soul” is the word Nephesh meaning breath.
The word’s origin comes from the root word Naphash, which means to breathe or to refresh one's self. He breathed into man and made him a living breath.
See, God (The Potter) formed us from the dust of the earth (that’s our flesh.)
He breathed in us and made us a living being or a living soul or a living breath. Meaning God connected our souls to Himself by His breath.
Wind and breath in the scripture are a type of the Spirit. Man was connected to God by the breath of God.
Now why did God do that?
23 “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
24 “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
“…an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (

Now this is the position that Jesus is referring as he preaches on the sermon on the mouth.
Well how do you know this Pastor Derrick?
context. Here we see God given a prophecy to the mountains of Israel concerning His name.
Now let me give you first come context. Here we see God given a prophecy to the mountains of Israel concerning His name and so forth. Remember mountains represent Kingdom
Remember mountains represent Kingdom
Sermon on the mount is all about life in the kingdom.
Let me say this quickly.
The kingdom of God is reserved for son and daughters.
Remember Jesus’ word in
Fear not little flock for it is the Father good pleasure or desire to give you the Kingdom.
32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom.
Ezekiel 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you. Verse 28 that you would dwell in the land I gave to your fathers.
1 “And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say, ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord.
2 ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Because the enemy has spoken against you, ‘Aha!’ and, ‘The everlasting heights have become our possession,’
3 therefore prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “For good reason they have made you desolate and crushed you from every side, that you would become a possession of the rest of the nations and you have been taken up in the talk and the whispering of the people.” ’ ”
4 ‘Therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God. Thus says the Lord God to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the forsaken cities which have become a prey and a derision to the rest of the nations which are round about,
5 therefore thus says the Lord God, “Surely in the fire of My jealousy I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who appropriated My land for themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and with scorn of soul, to drive it out for a prey.”
6 ‘Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, “Thus says the Lord God, ‘Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My wrath because you have endured the insults of the nations.’
7 “Therefore thus says the Lord God, ‘I have sworn that surely the nations which are around you will themselves endure their insults.
8 ‘But you, O mountains of Israel, you will put forth your branches and bear your fruit for My people Israel; for they will soon come.
9 ‘For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you will be cultivated and sown.
10 ‘I will multiply men on you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities will be inhabited and the waste places will be rebuilt.
11 ‘I will multiply on you man and beast; and they will increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited as you were formerly and will treat you better than at the first. Thus you will know that I am the Lord.
12 ‘Yes, I will cause men—My people Israel—to walk on you and possess you, so that you will become their inheritance and never again bereave them of children.’
13 “Thus says the Lord God, ‘Because they say to you, “You are a devourer of men and have bereaved your nation of children,”
14 therefore you will no longer devour men and no longer bereave your nation of children,’ declares the Lord God.
15 “I will not let you hear insults from the nations anymore, nor will you bear disgrace from the peoples any longer, nor will you cause your nation to stumble any longer,” declares the Lord God.’ ”
16 Then the word of the Lord came to me saying,
17 “Son of man, when the house of Israel was living in their own land, they defiled it by their ways and their deeds; their way before Me was like the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity.
18 “Therefore I poured out My wrath on them for the blood which they had shed on the land, because they had defiled it with their idols.
19 “Also I scattered them among the nations and they were dispersed throughout the lands. According to their ways and their deeds I judged them.
20 “When they came to the nations where they went, they profaned My holy name, because it was said of them, ‘These are the people of the Lord; yet they have come out of His land.’
21 “But I had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations where they went.
22 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for My holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you went.
23 “I will vindicate the holiness of My great name which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord,” declares the Lord God, “when I prove Myself holy among you in their sight.
24 “For I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands and bring you into your own land.
25 “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.
26 “Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
27 “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.
28 “You will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God.
29 “Moreover, I will save you from all your uncleanness; and I will call for the grain and multiply it, and I will not bring a famine on you.
30 “I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the produce of the field, so that you will not receive again the disgrace of famine among the nations.
31 “Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and your abominations.
32 “I am not doing this for your sake,” declares the Lord God, “let it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel!”
33 ‘Thus says the Lord God, “On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places will be rebuilt.
34 “The desolate land will be cultivated instead of being a desolation in the sight of everyone who passes by.
35 “They will say, ‘This desolate land has become like the garden of Eden; and the waste, desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.’
36 “Then the nations that are left round about you will know that I, the Lord, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted that which was desolate; I, the Lord, have spoken and will do it.”
37 ‘Thus says the Lord God, “This also I will let the house of Israel ask Me to do for them: I will increase their men like a flock.
38 “Like the flock for sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so will the waste cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they will know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”
verse 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you. Verse 28 that you would dwell in the land I gave to your fathers.
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you.
28 that you would dwell in the land I gave to your fathers.
ez 36:33
33 ‘Thus says the Lord God, “On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places will be rebuilt.
Thus says the Lord GOD: “On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also enable you to dwell in the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt. 34The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by. 35So they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.
God want to restore us to the relationship and the position that we had with Him in the place on the Garden, His Kingdom.
Where His spirit is breathing in us and over us. Connecting us to him.
He has given us His breath; His Spirit makes His sons alive.
He wants relationship
Now notice the relationship with the Potter and His clay, with the Creature and His Creation, and with the Father and His Son. We find here the perfect relationship and we see four things.
1) Man has fellowship with God. He walked with Him.
2) Man has communication with God. He talks to Him.
3) Man has revelation. He led him. (Where do you think he got the names to name all the animals?)
4) God was a Father to him.
14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
)
This is the place that God wants us to be. With Him, walking and talking to Him and allowing His Spirit to led us.
This is the position.
Durning World War II, General Theodore Roosevelt Jr. was waiting at an airport for a plane.
A sailor stepped to a ticket window and asked for a seat on the same plane explaining, “I want to see my mother; I aint got much time.”
The indifferent young woman at the ticket window was not impresses. “There’s a war on, you know,” she replied.
At this point, Roosevelt who had overheard the conversation, stepped to the window and told her to give the sailor his seat. A friend spoke up in surprise. “teddy, aren’t you in a hurry too? “it’s a matter of rank,” came the reply. “I’m only a general; he’s a son.”
We have a good Daddy in Heaven.
One that loves us a lot.
So much ; says he gave his son.
And as
5 For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.
psalm 100:5 says His lovingkindness is everlasting.
19 “For your waste and desolate places and your destroyed land— Surely now you will be too cramped for the inhabitants, And those who swallowed you will be far away.
Says he engraved us on the palms of His hand and our walls and continually before Him.
2 “May he kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine.
says his love is better than wine.
The Shulamite woman’s response was rightly do we love you.
5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Says that it is the Holy Spirit that pours out the love of God in our heart,
Says that it is the Holy Spirit that pours out the love of God in our heart,
God I realize that you have loved me before I could love you.
But I want to love you more.
This is were our text picks up.
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8 “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
matt 7:
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
God says if you want some come and get some.
If you want to love me more.
If you desire me.
I will give you the desire of your heart.
Sista Shulimite woman said,
1 “On my bed night after night I sought him Whom my soul loves; I sought him but did not find him.
2 ‘I must arise now and go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I must seek him whom my soul loves.’ I sought him but did not find him.
3 “The watchmen who make the rounds in the city found me, And I said, ‘Have you seen him whom my soul loves?’
4 “Scarcely had I left them When I found him whom my soul loves; I held on to him and would not let him go Until I had brought him to my mother’s house, And into the room of her who conceived me.”
SOng 3:1-
By night on my bed I sought the one I love;
I sought him, but I did not find him.
2 “I will rise now,” I said,
“And go about the city;
In the streets and in the squares
I will seek the one I love.”
I sought him, but I did not find him.
3 The watchmen who go about the city found me;
I said,
“Have you seen the one I love?”
4 Scarcely had I passed by them,
When I found the one I love.
I held him and would not let him go,
Jesus said, c’mon and seek me you will find me.

Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
