1 Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all,
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.

Dictionary of Biblical Imagery Discernment
Discernment is an act of wisdom or detection marked by an insight into a person’s character or by an event that comes through insight that goes beyond the facts given. In Scripture people can discern matters in an explicitly spiritual manner
Examples of dissed discernment – stories:
Example 1: one being in college discerning the relationship with Lewando was over
Example 2: the moment that God wants to say something
Example 3: discerning when angels are present example for deciding where defilement is in land example 5
Example 4: I’ve told the story before how I brought a young lady home and mama did not like her. Before she ever spent time with her she knew that there was something up with her. As a matter fact the only somebody to pass my mothers discernment test has been my wife.

3 Realms of Discernment
3 Realms of Discernment
1. Natural Perception: the Ability to Judge Well
1. Natural Perception: the Ability to Judge Well
The dictionary defines discernment as ‘the ability to judge well’. So at the most basic level of discernment:
1 cor
We can see the external of what is happeningWe also have wisdom and perception about what’s taking place behind the scenes
2. Having a Discernment Ability
2. Having a Discernment Ability
The second level of discernment is a heightened ability to discern. I frequently hear from people who are experiencing this second level of discernment, and who are having a difficult time knowing what to do about what they are sensing.
Signs of this level of discernment include:
Being tuned into people’s motivesPerceiving the spiritual realmBeing sensitive to atmospheres (both spiritual and natural)The ability to discern the demonic realm and spiritual realities
3. Seeing from God’s Viewpoint: As the Father Sees
3. Seeing from God’s Viewpoint: As the Father Sees
📷Anyone can see what is happening in the natural realm. Some people may have the ability to see in the spiritual realm (and this is not always sourced in the Holy Spirit).
54 Then He also said to the multitudes, “Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is. 55 And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. 56 Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?
If you are a Christian, and your desire is to develop a spiritual gift of discernment, a third level of discernment is vital to you.
And that is, to see as your Father is seeing.
When your ability to discern is submitted to the Holy Spirit and based in the Father’s love, it will truly be a gift.
The fruit of your discernment will not be fear, suspicion, confusion or accusation.
Some signs of this level of discernment operating include:
Your discernment is life-giving
It brings freedom and transformation
It brings freedom and transformationIt builds the church ()And, it draws people to Jesus

it draws people to Jesus
‘Father, I want to know you more. Help me to be like Jesus; to see as You see, in every situation. Today, share Your desires, Your intentions with me.
Holy Spirit, empower me to discern, and to speak words of life that bring healing, freedom and transformation. Help me to become so tuned to what is on Your heart, that when people encounter me, they encounter Jesus.’
5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
gen 3:
Yada is used 944 times in the Bible, is a root word used in every stem, and which expresses a multitude of shades of knowledge gained by the senses states that yada is, ‘…to apprehend and experience reality. Knowledge is not the possession of information, but rather its exercise or actualization’. - Baker’s Evangelical Dictionary
4 Let us choose justice for ourselves; Let us know among ourselves what is good.
Take away: There is a spiritual realm
justice n. — judgment involved in the determination of rights and the assignment of rewards and punishments.
to know (cognitive) v. — to be cognizant or aware of a fact or a specific piece of information; possess knowledge or information about.
14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
If you catch this, you’ll not only understand Discernement you will have a larger more solid understanding of the gifts
4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
