Video Intro
American journalist Ernest Hemingway once wrote, “Life is just a dirty trick, a short journey from nothingness to nothingness.”
Do you believe that? or does life have a purpose?
Tonight we’re starting a new series for our Sunday night chapel called Explore God, The 7 Big Questions.
Throughout this seven-week journey, we’ll discuss questions such as...
Does Life Have a Purpose?
Is There a God?
Why Does God Allow Pain and Suffering?
Is Christianity Too Narrow in Our Culture?
Is Jesus Really God?
Is the Bible Reliable?
Can I Know God Personally?
I think this is going to be a fun series.
Our first session is titled

Does Life Have a Purpose?

I think your beliefs on God will help answer that question. If you believe in God, Yahwah, you’ll more then likely believe life has a purpose.
If you don’t believe there is a god and that everything is random chaos, that has happened by chance, you might not think life has a purpose.
If there is no God, what’s the use? If life has no purpose, if you’re born, then you suffer and die, what’s the use in living a good life?
Here’s the problem that I’ve seen. Is when someone claims to believe in God but lives as if he doesn’t exist.
What do I mean by that?
If you claim to be a Christian, but you live as if you’re not.
True story. Growing up, I had not heard the gospel, the good news about Jesus...
How do you live? Do you live as if there is a God or as if there is no God?
There’s a difference between believing God exists and living as if he exists.

Are you satisfied with life?

Purpose, destination, direction
what’s the end goal?
What are you here for?
Is there a purpose for life?
When it’s all over, what matters?
Hope?
Your value is based on how God sees you and how God wants to use you to fulfill His purpose in your lives.
Learn to avoid letting culture/society define your worth. Keep your focus on the worth God provides.
Ecclesiastes 1:2–8 NLT
“Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!” What do people get for all their hard work under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes. The sun rises and the sun sets, then hurries around to rise again. The wind blows south, and then turns north. Around and around it goes, blowing in circles. Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea. Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content.
Bottom Line
Every person on Earth was created to know and love God personally. Life is meaningless without God, but God gives everything meaning.
