Faith, hope and love are referred to as the three cardinal Christian virtues. The top three virtues produced by the joyous gospel in our lives. The top three virtues at the heart of our Christian living. And the top three virtues for a functioning Christian community. Paul talks about them as a package at least four times in his letters. And the writer of Hebrews, in 10:19-25, also uses them to encourage the Christian community in its perseverance. That is, because of who Jesus is and what he's done, we can, together, draw near to God in faith, persevere with hope, and encourage each other in love. This Sunday morning, as a follow-up to our recent series on discipleship, we'll focus on the way we spur each other on in all three of these virtues by meeting together and sharing with each other.
