Spiritual Pattern Part 16
"Make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold.
Make the entire lampstand and its decorations of one piece—the base, center stem, lamp cups, buds, and petals.
Make it with six branches going out from the center stem, three on each side.
Each of the six branches will have three lamp cups shaped like almond blossoms, complete with buds and petals.
Craft the center stem of the lampstand with four lamp cups shaped like almond blossoms, complete with buds and petals.
There will also be an almond bud beneath each pair of branches where the six branches extend from the center stem.
The almond buds and branches must all be of one piece with the center stem, and they must be hammered from pure gold.
Then make the seven lamps for the lampstand, and set them so they reflect their light forward.
The lamp snuffers and trays must also be made of pure gold.
You will need seventy-five pounds of pure gold for the lampstand and its accessories.
"Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you here on the mountain.
INTRODUCTION
Good evening!
We are on part 16 of this Spiritual Pattern.
Tonight we are going to talk about the Candlestick.
The candlestick would be more properly called the lampstand and because on the top of each branch a lamp stood.
What you need to look at is that a distinction is made between the lampstand and its branches.
The central or the upright part was the candlestick, the other parts were simply the branches.
That should made us think about:
"Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches.
Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit.
For apart from Me you can do nothing.
The branches could do nothing without the candlestick.
We want to look at the formation of this candlestick.
First, it was made of pure gold of beaten or in the NLT version hammered work.
"Make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold.
Now if you notice there’s no wood here, but still like all the other vessels, Candlestick had a twofold character, Its shaft and its branches.
The candlestick was made out of one solid piece of gold, and that it was made to the shade of the candlestick by being beaten or hammered but stay that one solid piece of gold.
The candlestick didn’t appear until the beating had been accomplished.
The beating is a symbol of suffering.
The beating was not done in the Holy Place, the hard process of beating was done outside.
Christ had to come out from His Father’s presence and go outside the gate of Jerusalem.
Christ knows all the depth of meaning of beating.
And we are partakers of His divine nature He suffered for us, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
This is what I want you to look at the position of the candlestick.
Let’s go thru them: the Laver stood in the center of the holy place, the table of shewbread on the right side, and the candlestick on the left.
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
Each one of these was setting a path for us to be able to draw near to Him.
The Holy Spirit-Laver, Table of shewbread-the Bread of life, Jesus, the Word of God.
But now the candlestick- Which is the only light in the holy place, there were no windows, no natural light.
And It was in this light of the candlestick that the priest offer incense and renew the bread on the table.
It is in the light of His presence must all holy work be done.
O LORD, you are my lamp.
The LORD lights up my darkness.
It is when we try to walk and work in our light, that little small spark that we will stumble and fail.
No light on the subject.
No light on the subject.
Now the candlestick is kinda like the church, we have a purpose for God.
And we are a separate thing.
We are sanctify, that is what being separate is about.
And I give Myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by Your truth.
It is not what we are done, but it is what did do.
The church which is the branches is in the world but not of the world.
They do not belong to this world any more than I do.
Make them holy by Your truth; teach them Your word, which is truth.
Just as You sent Me into the world, I am sending them into the world.
Now this is what you got to remember the branches were made partakers of the same nature as the candlestick.
And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
Paid attention here the branches were beaten out of the shaft, the candlestick.
Remember one piece and pure gold.
So the strength of the branch lay in the shaft and apart from the shaft the branches have no power to stand.
(Talk about a tree)
That what means:
"Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches.
Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit.
For apart from Me you can do nothing.
But when the branches ( Christians) are connected to the candlestick, we can do all things.
Phip 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
When the branches are connected to the candlesticks, the shaft, then they will take on the beauty of the shaft.
Each branch will are that beauty.
The knobs, bowls and flowers that are on each individual branch.
The beauty of the Lord comes upon us.
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord.
And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.
When we are connected to the shaft, the candlestick, then we change and put on a man.
"I have given them the glory You gave Me, so they may be one as We are one.
Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him.
Have you notice how person changes when they come to know the Lord.
They will looks better even.
Now let’s look at the light that the candlestick brings.
Now understand this the light of the candlestick is something different from the candlestick itself.
You may have a lampstand without a lamp or a lamp without a light, just as you may have the form of godliness without the power.
But the candlestick was made for the very purpose of bearing the light.
This light was never to go out.
The secret of a steady, powerful testimony lies not in having abundance of knowledge, but in having abundance of life.
The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone.
We become the light to the world but there was so much more, there was a great purpose of this light:
A. Shine before the Lord.
Our first great business as Christians is to live before God.
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
I believe this statement: “Walk before me and be thou perfect.”
Live your life to please God.
We hear the words “let your light shine.”
Letting your light shine simply means letting the life of Christ who dwells within us be seen.
So the question must be asked is it possible to shine in the eyes of men and yet not be shining before God?
The answer is yes.
