I wonder in this picture of the donkey if there was a point where they thought hey I wonder if this cart is getting too heavy? I know they didn’t put all of these packages on all at the same time. It became too much for this donkey to handle little by little and the next thing you know he is up in the air and life has been disrupted and now nothing is getting done.
I would like to think that at

v 1 If another believer is overcome by sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
sin (act) is a willful act against the known will of God.sin (nature) a posture of our heart (mind, will, emotions) that is setup against God.a place where we have not yet allowed the love of God and the blood of Jesus to cleanse and transform our lives.
Sinful acts are a symptom of a heart that is not in line with God. Just like a runny nose, cough, fever, chills are a symptom that the body is sick.
-We don’t take medicine, but ignore core issue of being ill
-Similarly is not asking us to treat the act of sin
and ignore the reason that act occured
Many times we follow scripture where we tell them what they did wrong.....and if they don’t listen we take a partner with us and confront them again. This is right in certain contexts.......and Galatians also gives us another facet that we are to “restore gently” as some translations say or we “help that person back onto the right track
This is not only a sin recognition, but it is the process of walking with people prayerfully to pray for the Spirit to show them the areas of their heart where the sinful thoughts and desires came from. After the Holy Spirit shows this to them and it is confessed we put on the Yoke with them and walk with them and carry the burden of the journey together.
BUT we also need to recognize that our hearts need to be guarded because we are just as susceptible to the nature of sin and it’s blinding effect on our lives......we walk with Jesus and others daily that can help us see those places in our lives we might not be able to see ourselves.
v2 Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
The Law of Christ? Jesus told us to love each other as he loved us. Jesus carried the burden of sin as a perfect person......this is something that we couldn’t do. He took a journey where we couldn’t follow him.
-He took our sin
-died on the cross
-and defeated sin to give us freedom
As the body of Christ we are to be like Jesus in this respect.
-We cannot carry the burden of sin alone.....we were never meant to do that.
-As godly......godlike people we can do with someone what they can’t do alone.....carry the burden of sin in their life.
-We can lift people in prayer and constantly lift them in prayer as the Holy Spirit does the heart work of transformation
-We walk with people encouraging them, showing them places we see growth and change. Speaking life into them. We can be the re-presentation of Jesus in their life.
This passage comes just after a section on “walking in the Spirit.” Our ability to serve and love others is directly connected to the grace offered to us by the Spirit through Jesus.
