III. Intro

on this week another well known Pastor - Pastor Jarrid Wilson from Harvest Christian Fellowship in California committed suicide. You may be wondering why did he choose to start off with that type of news.. well, I was told that this was a laity and leadership summit. And if there is anyone who needs a word on the importance of faith is the leaders of the church…

Dont get me wrong… we all can use a fill up … a faith increase… but sometimes the ones that have been called of God and give of themselves the most.. need a little extra dose…

Now let me be honest here.. im a little nervous because of y'all have initials before and after you name.. so just for the record.. i dont have a sermon… this aint not meat and two.... this is more like a extra value meal… i have word.. now if thats ok.. awesome..but if not… im so sorry… if you come back in the morning Pastor Stevenson or your Pastor will give you a great sermon.. on sunday..

our text simple says .. and Abram believed the Lord...

we have a man who went from being a Pagan .. to the father of faith...

from baptist to cogic

from a sinner man .. as the old school preachers use to say...... to a saint...

he was a husband…an entrepreneur .... we was settled.... he was just hopping from apartment to apartment.. home to home.. .. the bible says they settled in Haran..... and when he was 75 years old.. the Lord told him to move… come out from among them.... and be ye seperate...

the Lord told him to move from your family and friends… and go where I tell you… and bible says he took Sarai his wife.. and all his substance…

that should help somebody .. the lord told you to move.. and you worried about being to old to start over…

Look at your Neighbor and tell them… stop being stubborn and move… believe God..

v. time- its taking to long

well about 10 years after Abram settled in the land of cannon.... 10 years of watching others being blessed.. 10 years of believing and taking God at his word… 10 years of watching others become parents… you have to imagine that the burden on Sari was so heavy…in a time when if you didn't have a son then your possessions and wealth wound go to a servant in your home...

if mr terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger… didn't have his son Patrick… then his millions would go to the mades son … Joseph Baena...

and after watching and waiting..... waiting… and watching… being happy for others… then waiting and watching … Sari .. made a decision… in an effort … to help the situation… she decided to tell her husband that.. it was ok to have a open relationship…..simply because of what her situation looked like…

have you ever been in a place… experienced a season of waiting.. on God … and during this particular season .. an you had the unfortunate challenge of being happy for someone else… while you were secretly struggling to hold on to your faith…

have you ever started a ministry the right way… and struggled .... you almost lost your home.. your family.. all while some slipping and tipping.... stealing all the money from the church… woke up one morning saying i think i want to be a preacher .. because i cant get into medical school… and i just paid my $50 for my license… Pastor… seems to be blowing up… and his ministry is thriving...

have you ever been waiting on God to send you a husband and got tire of waiting.. so you started looking for one.. then found out he likes the same thing you do...

have you ever believe God for another position on your job, but got tired of waiting.. and left the company for what seemed to be a better posiiton .. only to be downsized..

is there anyone here tonight that can understand the pain.. shame and embarrassment that Abram and Sari had to go thru ....

is there anyone here that can be honest with themselves enough to say… i was like them too.. i got tired of waiting… ..

tell your neighbor .. no matter how long it takes… believe God...

VI. i done messed up- tried to help God

13 years later the Lord visits Abram and again… but this time its a little different… the Lord says ..

Genesis 17:1–3 NLT

1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. 2 I will make a covenant with you, by which I will guarantee to give you countless descendants.” 3 At this, Abram fell face down on the ground. Then God said to him,

i believe in my sanctified imgination … that Abram … . at this moment felt the conviction of God.... yall know that little thing that when you have the baptism of the Holy Ghost that.... may make your stomach feel a little woosy.. when you have acted unseemly… or in a way thats not pleasing in Gods sight..

or when you done clowned and all of a sudden you feel bad… and the God makes you go right back and apologize.. and get it right...

I believe that its at this moment that God forgave him and washed his sins away… .. God said serve me faithfully.. .. that knocks out alot of folk right there....... and live a blameless life..... in other words live a life free from spot and wrinkle… and if you do this…ill make a convenant with you..

and the bible says that Abram feel to his feet… facing the ground as a sign of worship.... and from that moment further the Lord changed his name from Abram… to Abraham … meaning father of a multitude of nations..

the lord changed SAri to Sarah .. meaning… princess...

how many of you know that when God saves you. there a change that takes place.... .. you may not get any letters added to your name… but your name will be written in the lambs book of life...

how many of you know that when God saves you.. the ones that are connected to you will be affected....... the ones that love you will be blessed.. the ones that curse you will be cursed…

when you get saved.. or repent the Lords wipes the slate clean… and rememebers it no more… folk are the ones that keep bring up what you did… .. if you still doing it.. then stop.. and get right.. but if you have asked God for forginess and he has forgiving you… then move on.. and every time sombody wants to bring it up.. just tell..... God changed my name..

Vii.. mistake..

the lord told Abraham in Genesis the 22 chapter to take Isaac, thine only son.... so in other words.. all that stuff that abram did.. is all covered under the blood...

while on they were preparing for the burnt offering... .. Isaac asked where is th eLamb.... and the bible says.. that Abraham said.. the lord will provide...

and right before his hand came down… the Lord steppe din and said.. stay your hand.... well done they good and faithful servant… for now I know you truley fear God...

VIII. close

well.. my time is up.. i told you im not going to be before you long… but i just came to tell somebody … that only faith will do it.....

that blessing you been waiting on.. is coming if … you hold onto your faith...

your deliverance is coming ..if you hold to your faith..

as as matter of fact.. your money cant even make a way this time.... so keep in the bank.. because rents due on the 1st...

the only way to please God .. is to have a little faith...

in other words .. streaming is Good.. but you got to go to the church house....
