Who Am I?
Introduction
Review
Even though we have rejected God, our rejection of him has not changed his affection for us.
Romans 5:
When we sin, there is a price to pay
Ephesians 2:12-16
The reason came into this world was because their is a price to be paid for our sins.
Someone is going to pay it.
But God would rather pay the price for us than have us condemned.
In this passage in Hebrews, the writer is explaining how the death of Jesus was a sacrifice, paying the price for sins.
In the Old Testament, before Jesus, people were commanded to sacrifice animals for their sins.
But the animal sacrifice couldn’t really forgive sins.
People who became Christians were confused about what to do since so many things had become different.
And so we read this explanation:
Hebrews 10:1-18
After Peter explains to the people who Jesus truly is, they respond broken, knowing that they are sinful people needing forgiveness.
