When Your Student Becomes Your Teacher

Acts 10:34–48 AV
34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. 36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) 37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: 40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; 41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. 43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

The 3# Stages of your Life I Want to point out to you is this
Your Past (back then)
Your Present (Your Now)
Your future ( Your Next)
But we will only deal with two Now & Next…
Whats Next In your Life is directly connected to Your NOW,
What happen nexts depends on how you handle your NOW..
This is exactly what was happening to Peter, God turned a new chapter in his life as an Apostle
Now he is being taught by the Holy Spirit What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common or unclean.
This is different from what i was taught back then.
This is different than the religious laws I grew up on back then.
Tell your neighbor don’t miss the next move of God because your reminiscing how it was back then.
A Pentecostal Experience Requires us to open our minds, our hearts and our faith to something we have never seen before.
Repentance: means Change your mind, We go threw cycles in our journey as a Christian where our theology expands to higher heights and deeper depths.
(AV)
17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate, 18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. 20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
Point II.
Peter Now meets Cornelius, who Reverences the anointing on Peters Life.
Who’s Anointing do you reverence?
Cornelius a Roman/Italian was taught to respect and honor Leadership on all levels..
Matthew 13:57–58 AV
57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. 58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Matthew 13:57 NCV
57 So the people were upset with Jesus. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his hometown and in his own home.”
Honoring God’s vessel is necessary in order to receive a miracle…
B. Cornelius isn’t circumcised, hasn’t been baptised he’s a gentile yet God hears and responds to his prayers.
Could you imagine how many Cornelius are out there ready for whats next in God, but because
they have a tattoo
they have a ear ring in their nose
they are a man but dress like a women
they have a criminal record
they dabbled in Islam or Buda or witchcraft...
When we can look beyond their NOW and speak into them whats NEXT in their Lives we will see the next revival in this nation.
Many of them are victims of their Past (back then)
See the Holy Ghost I Know delivered me from a life style that I was chief amongst Sinners.
All i needed was a Peter who had a roof top experience that realized the Next Generation Leaders are not wearing suites and ties.
But dreads, baggy pants & tattoo’s & tight skirts and tops.. pooping molly, smell like weed…
Tell Your Neighbor Jesus cast out demons.. We have to cast out Culture...
2 Corinthians 10:4–7 NLT
4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 6 And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient. 7 Look at the obvious facts. Those who say they belong to Christ must recognize that we belong to Christ as much as they do.
2 Corinthians 10:4 NCV
4 We fight with weapons that are different from those the world uses. Our weapons have power from God that can destroy the enemy’s strong places. We destroy people’s arguments
Peter you ready for the Next Pentecostal Experience?
III.. Peter Opens His Mouth
(AV) 34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
While Peter is preaching they are listening but something happens that has never happen before, while Peter is preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, this group of gentiles who have given reverence to the mouth piece and the mouth piece has made it clear God loves them just as much as God loves the jews. The Holy Ghost fell on them which heard the word..
I think you missed it, its a sequence of events that manifest a New Pentecostal Experience
Cornelius is hungry for what God wants to do NEXT in his Life and recognizes what he does Now will determine it. So he sends for a man that should not have anything to do with him to come to his house.
Cornelius and his entire house hold Reverence the anointing of God on the Man.
Peter who is fresh off the roof is open to follow the leading of the Holy Spirt where ever it may lead him.
Peter is confronted by a Roman who sees him and bows to his feet, And Peter leads him up and tells him I am a man just like you.
Peter begins preaching & the people get filled. I said Peter begins Preaching and the People get filled.. they got filled while hearing.
