As a Diana Ross and Supremes fan one of my favorite songs is the last song they would perform together. Even though Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsing did not actually do the recording it would be their final recording and final #1 hit for the group. As a matter of fact its the last # one hit on the Billboard 100 charts for the decade of the 60. It was a close of an era. A string of number one hits for a the biggest selling girl group of their time. Now whether you like the supremes or Diana Ross does not matter. Its the words written by Johnny Bristol, Jackey Beavers, and Harvey Fuqua. It was the last of twelve American number-one pop singles for Diana Ross & the Supremes on the Motown label.
Its the words that resonate today. Someday well be together. What is it about togetherness that seems so hopeful, joyful. What is it about togetherness that we yearn for it.
How many have heard at a funeral we have come together as a family. This should not be the only occasion that we meet like this. Yet togetherness is missing today. We can’t seem to come together.
Someday we'll be together
Say it, say it again
Someday we'll be together
You're far away from me my love, and just as sure my
My baby as there are stars above,
I wanna say, I wanna say, I wanna say some day we'll be together
Yes we will, yes we will say some day we'll be together
Someday day, some sweet day we will be together
I know, I know, I know, I know
Those lyrics drive home the point of a need and a yearning for togetherness.
Paul writes the Ephesians stressing the same thing a need and a desire for togetherness. A new since of unity.
He opens this chapter express a call for unity. He urges us to walk worthy of our vocation with humility and gentleness and patience bearing one another in love. This is a call for togetherness and call for unity. We are supposed to be unified in Christ! One Lord, one faith one baptism one God and Father of all.
So the urging of unity cant be ignored if we say we are in Christ! Paul builds the argument by saying When he ascended on high he led a host of captives and he gave gifts to men.
The one who ascended and decended and ascended was purposeful in hos actions. It was for our togetherness. Verse says11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

In our togetherness we have offices to assist us.
11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, ().
He gave those offices first for two reasons:

Equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry
We are to be equipped to serve. The message Bible said trained in skilled servant work. If we are going to be experts in anything it should be serving! Just like we want only the skilled and knowledgeable to repair car or the be our doctor we should be trained to be skilled servants. Are your signing for saint education on how to be a skilled servant? Looking for areas and avenues to use the gifts God has given you? to serve!!!!
Evangelize the lost to build up the Kingdom!
We have a responsibility to evangelize. There should be a steady building of the Kingdom. Each one reach one. How many of you made an effort to invite someone to church? to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
The ultimate Goal is Togetherness
until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. ().

Paul said Until. So the must be striving to get to the point where God wants is. Moving in sync with each other. The message Bible says until we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ.
