Don’t Forget Your First Job Description

We as believers need to be cognizant of what our first job title is. I have a question for everyone today. What is your first job down here on Earth? You’re correct, to save souls for Christ. You could be a Surgeon and operate on countless people and “Fisher of men” still should be your primary job title. You could drive a street sweeper and still have the same job title… a fisher of men. You could be lawyer and say that you are a fisher of men esq.... God is not a respecter of persons. To Him it is all hands on deck and we really need all hands on deck in times like these.
One of the primary ways the enemy is attacking the Church is by creating difficult issues in our lives. When it comes down to it, all people need guidance from God about how they should make up their minds when it comes to difficult issues. Instead, we have found where Mother’s don’t want to be mother’s, Father’s are absent from the home and don’t want to be a parent to their children. Wives don’t want to submit themselves to their husbands and husbands fall under the authority of wives. No one trusts God and His Holy spirit to lead, no one trust God’s providence to carry us through this thing called life.

We need to be aware that God gives guidance in a few ways:

Through the scripture: The first and primary fault of the modern Church is simply people don’t read their Bible. Many seasoned Church goers could recite the major points of the Bible; however, most people aren’t able to tell you what the Bible says about the everyday issues we face in life. We need to know it is the small things that destroy us. Small mistakes… the scripture says we need to catch the little foxes that destroy the vine. We as believers need to sweat the small stuff. We preach, teach and talk until we are blue in face… saying you can’t do what you don’t know. Yet we go to our homes and we don’t read God’s word. So I have a question for you: would you trust a surgeon that had straight F’s in Med School? Would you trust a lawyer with similar grades? How about a Police Officer that didn’t know how to fire his gun when there is an intruder is in your house? Whoa, now it’s clear to see how far away from the landmark we are when we don’t do a simple thing like reading His words. You have an intruder in your house. You need God to drive him out!
Through the Holy Spirit: Jesus said the following words as recorded in the Gospel of St. : And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
This is important, because we need to know that God is a God of truth!

5 Into thine hand I commit my spirit:

Thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

A familiar word from … however, we don’t look at the preceeding words of the text:

In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust;

Let me never be ashamed:

Deliver me in thy righteousness.

2 Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily:

Be thou my strong rock,

For an house of defence to save me.

3 For thou art my rock and my fortress;

Therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.

4 Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me:

For thou art my strength.

The Spirit of Truth is the strong rock, house of defense, your fortress and can lead you from earth to glory.
The Spirit of Truth can deliver you from men that make private plans for your downfalls. If you pray for a speedy delivery from these sort of people to God, He will be quick to deliver you. If He did it for David, He will do so for you. The enemy brings about overwhelming circumstances that we think we can’t bear. God has hidden all of this strength in His word. We need to make the Lord and His word our habitation.
We need to guard ourselves from the spirit of seduction and stay holy. In I find these words:

These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Trust God’s spirit when men and women try to lead you out of the way… knowing God is so important that He gave us the spirit to teach us beyond mankind’s imperfections. Not everyone that preaches the has Godly motives. Likewise, everyone you meet doesn’t have Godly intentions for you. Some people are sinful and would love you to see you down there where they are. We need to try the spirit by the spirit to make sure that God is the source of the inspiration.
3. Through supernatural intervention, in I find these words:
Think about Gideon; he was tasked with what would seem as a impossible task. Rather than cower away from God asked him to do, he reached out to God in prayer and asked for a sign:
36 And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,
37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.
39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
I am a firm believer that when you ask in faith for God to give you a sign for direction for a very serious matter - He will do it. God will show you signs to help your unbelief if necessary, especially if the choice will impact other people. Instead of waiting on the Lord, we constantly front run God and taint His effectiveness. God said He would perfect our timing. How can we with our limited mind understand a tomorrow we can’t see. Much more even today in which we truly can’t stop the sun from rising or the earth from spinning. Some things are just much bigger than us.
40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.
40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.

4. Through prayer:
(KJV 1900)
3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge,
And liftest up thy voice for understanding;
4 If thou seekest her as silver,
And searchest for her as for hid treasures;
5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord,
And find the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord giveth wisdom:
Out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous:
He is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
The scripture says be anxious for nothing, but in everything with prayer and supplication make your requests known unto God. When we lift our voices and hearts up to God in prayer He will find us and provide not only direction; but understanding of Him through the circumstance. He is our crutch, our support that we can lean on when the way seems impossible. If the Lord gives you wisdom about the situation, you will be in a good place.

Don’t discount the use of God’s people to give you a word that He wants you to know. Some people have been deposited into your life so you may know something.

Guarding Your Good Report

This takes use to the golden text for the day. Conduct befitting the kingdom is a requirement. Actions with a focus on God is Paramount. Just like we can’t live a life we don’t know. We can’t act anyway we want… we can’t always do things the way we want either. We have such a falling away from the Church that the world doesn’t given us credit for being who we say we are. But we find in Philippians The following words:

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

These are things you simply can’t go wrong with… no matter where you are. You aren’t going to ruin your name (or your cause for Christ) by doing and thinking on these things.
These are the days when we need to hunker down and do exactly what the word tells us. Remembering the goal of the enemy when we sin is to sift those sins as wheat… his goal is to blow up your billboard and put your shortcomings on full display for any and all to see.
We need to make a total conscientious effort to stay close to God and the things He says are important:
Having a good report
Having virtue
Praising God.
When we do these things, the God of Peace shall be with us. While the enemy wants to exploit who we are, what we done and have us focus on these things so we can understand and stress out over them. Giving us high blood pressure, diabetes and other health issues. God wants to give the peace that surpasses the things the devil wants you to understand.
