Becoming the Overflow

43 *But now thus saith the LORD athat created thee, O Jacob,

bAnd he athat formed thee, O Israel,

fpFear not: cfor I have redeemed thee,

dI have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

2  eWhen thou passest through the waters, fI will be with thee;

And gthrough the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:

ehWhen thou iwalkest through the fire, hthou shalt not be iburned;

Neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

At this part of Isaiah we see an abrupt shift in tone. It is as if the author is portraying the utter judgement that was to be brought down upon Israel and then God stepped in and said, wait I promised Restoration and protection.
Today, the Church faces the same dilemma…many have traded their worship and zeal for God in for television, movies, games, hobbies and activities of all sorts. Regardless of nature, if one puts it before God it has become an idol. If it becomes more important than attending the house of God, it is an idol. If you’re a soul winner, how are you going to teach faithfulness if you are not faithful yourself?
Yet, even though we make these mistakes God still preserves the Church.

Jacob and Israel, though in a sinful miserable condition, shall be looked after; for

When the church or church members get out of line God chastens those he loves because they are His workmanship.

1. They are God’s workmanship, created by him unto good works, Eph. 2:10. He has created them and formed them, not only given them a being, but this being, formed them into a people, constituted their government, and incorporated them by the charter of his covenant.

God bought Israel for a great price and took them out of bondage…the Church of today has been redeemed by the blood of the lamb.

2. They are the people of his purchase: he has redeemed them. Out of the land of Egypt he first redeemed them, and out of many another bondage, in his love, and in his pity (ch. 63:9); much more will he take care of those who are redeemed with the blood of his Son.

God’s people are to be separate

3. They are his peculiar people, whom he has distinguished from others, and set apart for himself: he has called them by name, as those he has a particular intimacy with and concern for, and they are his, are appropriated to him and he has a special interest in them.

If we have repented from our sins, been baptized in Jesus name, and filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost we are in the New Covenant relationship with God.

Meaning if we live forJesus in obedience the result will be eternal life

4. He is their God in covenant (v. 3): I am the Lord thy God, worshipped by thee and engaged by promise to thee, the Holy One of Israel, the God of Israel; for the true God is a holy one, and holiness becomes his house.

The children of Israel needed to overcome fear, just as we in the Church need to do the same

v. 5, Fear not. Those that have God for them need not fear who or what can be against them.

To many times we are afraid to go in deeper dimensions of what God has for us because we fear what might happen or what we may or may not have to sacrifice. Regardless of what happens, just give me Jesus. Regardless if it rain, or sleet, or hail just give me Jesus.

means to literally overflow or rinse or wash off. Lets go back to Isa 43:2

שָׁטַף S7857 TWOT2373 GK8851 vb. overflow, rinse or wash off

fpFear not: cfor I have redeemed thee,

dI have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

2  eWhen thou passest through the waters, fI will be with thee;

And gthrough the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:

He is the God that will not leave thee if you seek Him, He is the God that will preserve thee if you fight for Him, He is the God that will anoint thee if you’ll answer Him.

We are bought with a price! We need to stop worrying about our anointing being washed off when we get into our mission field and become the overflow that washes away the enemy!

When it comes to reaching the lost and , we’ve forgotten all about the .

24  And the floors shall be full of cwheat,

And rthe fats shall overflow with cwine and coil.

- 4
We’ve forgot all about

25  And I will restore to you the years that sthe locust hath eaten,

sThe cankerworm, and sthe caterpiller, and sthe palmerworm,

tMy great army which I sent among you.

-
So stop worrying about the enemy stealing what God’s blessed you with, stop worrying about the enemy removing what God’s already given you and put on the whole armor of God and go to war!

11 uPut on vthe whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against wthe wiles of the devil.

13 bWherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in cthe evil day, and ||having done all, dto stand. 14 Stand therefore, ehaving your loins girt about with truth, and fhaving on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And gyour feet shod with the preparation of hthe gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking ithe shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the jfiery darts of kthe wicked. 17 And take fthe helmet of salvation, and lthe sword of the Spirit, which is mthe word of God:

--
Putting on the whole armor of God isn’t going to do anyone any good if you don’t use it! We’ve got to go to war! We’ve got to plead with God for our Brother and Sister, We’ve got to plead to God that he would begin to fight our battles. Lets start that in the prayer room and finish in our praise and worship!!!

18 nPraying always with all prayer and supplication oin the Spirit, and pwatching thereunto with all qperseverance and rsupplication for all saints;

As the new Global Missions Director for the FL District, I’m looking for some prayer warriors! We need some Apostolic Gateway members that will be the overflow! It’s time to get connected with I AM GLOBAL and move forward as the CHURCH!!!!
