INTRODUCTION:
13Ἐν ᾧ καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀκούσαντες τὸν λόγον τῆς ἀληθείας, τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τῆς σωτηρίας ὑμῶν, ἐν ᾧ καὶ πιστεύσαντες ἐσφραγίσθητε τῷ πνεύματι τῆς ἐπαγγελίας τῷ ἁγίῳ,

ἐκλέγομαι (eklegomai), choose; select.

κληρόω (klēroō), appoint by lot; obtain by lot.
57.170 ἀρραβών, ῶνος m: the first or initial payment of money or assets, as a guarantee for the completion of a transaction or pledge (in the NT ἀρραβών is used only figuratively in referring to the Holy Spirit as the pledge or guarantee of the blessings promised by God)—‘first installment, downpayment, pledge, guarantee.
30.105 κληρόω: (a figurative extension of meaning of κληρόω ‘to be chosen by lot,’ not occurring in the NT) to choose, with the implication of supernatural or divine intervention or guidance—‘to choose in accordance with the will of God.’ ἐν ᾧ καὶ ἐκληρώθημεν ‘in him we also were chosen’ Eph 1:11.19
