INTRODUCTION
My title given to me is rolling with the punches....
I def get why I have this title....
My wife and I had our life flipped upside down… many people know mostly what happened generally… but we are still stuck with the mental images and emotions of what has happened
Its kinda funny how people act like they know or understand
No one really knows
Me and my wife suffered and we still get cold sweats and some things that happen in life and things that people say will give us flash backs and we try to hold it together and we end up crying or upset.
Its kinda funny how people act like they know or understand
No one really knows maybe you can relate to what that is like...
There is things we went through and seen that have scarred us but
everyone has something that you suffered from... some people not as bad and some maybe even worse...
Now everyone has something different you suffered from... some people not as bad and some maybe even worse...
There is no profit in us comparing who has had it worse … but our response to when the punches comes whether big or small is what is important.
Because I stand here I am no expert at rolling with the punches… I need this message myself.

This passage of scripture is broken up into three sections:
It starts with endure
It ends with endure
Paul starts singing a song (v.11-13)
At first it was humorous to me that after this message of life is hard but press on he starts singing
Message
God does not promise you heaven on earth.
Your flesh wants heaven on earth.
If you were God you would make yourself a heaven on earth.
The Early Church Hymn:
As Paul was teaching us about enduring he was thinking of all he has endured and a song came to his memory.
It reminded him
Pastor Mike and Dave do this a lot .. you can be talking about something random to them and say a word or phrase and they start busting out in song.
Paul sings an ancient early church hymn here.
when you read in English like sometimes in the psalms its hard to imagine this sung.
but ill read it to you in Greek and you can hear the rhythm and rhyme.
ἀρνήσασθαι (arnay-sasthi) °γὰρ ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται (dune a tie).
Music has power to it.
It relates to us, it reminds us of what we need to hear.
There are a few songs that me and Megan would listen to over and over again when we went through what we did.
Which calmed our hearts, it made us look back to God.
