Exhortation: The Prosperity of Passion
Greetings:
Honor Brother Coy:
Opening Scriptures:
3 dTo whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many einfallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of fthe things pertaining to the kingdom of God
2 For I know cthe forwardness of your mind, dfor which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that eAchaia was ready fa year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.
Here we see two forms of passion, one being the form of suffering and the other being in the form of what we commonly call passion.
Jesus knew that passion required sacrifice of time, money, family time, you name it to further the Kingdom.
Jesus in stated that his family where those who did the will of his Father.
Today, we must be encouraged that zeal is powerful and makes an impact on our ministry!
Power Follows Passion
Religion without zeal is dead!
God has called His church to be missioned minded and in a generation of laziness it’s to easy to become satisfied with where we are as the Church!
God desires that each saint in this place is on fire and bearing both spiritual fruit and physical addition to the Church!
Every person matters to the kingdom of God!
If you don’t believe me just read !
You see the woman at the well wasn’t valued by the Jews let along the Messiah of the Jews, she wasn’t special, but Jesus said I can use you!
It didn’t matter to him that she had a spirit of harlotry on her! Jesus said your my child and I’m here for you!
Jesus had zeal for the lost, but He was also willing to die on the cross for their souls!
Ministry is service and will present sufferings
Long nights
Persecution from those you love and even the closest of friends or family
Judas
Sacrifice of your time and finances
In 2004 TF Tenny preached a message called, “Power follows Passion”.
Let me tell you something honey, if you want to be used in ministry get passionate about the Kingdom!
If you want to be used in spiritual gifts get passionate about the Kingdom!
As Pastor Coy said this morning, let the Holy Ghost get ahold of you!
Don’t be afraid to pray like you’ve never prayed before!
Don’t be afraid to push back against the spirit of religion that faces this city…God’s already got the victory and he has this Church here for a reason!
Hindrances to Passion: Fear
In we read about the persecution of the Church in Smyrna…this church faced a spirit of intimidation and was afraid of what the enemy was going to do.
- We allow the spirit of intimidation to keep us from witnessing in the Walmarts, gas stations, work places, and even homes
- We are allowing fear to hinder our Passion
God wants to deliver someone in the place from that enemy!
18 There is no fear in love; but sperfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment.
He that feareth eis not made perfect in love.
19 tWe love him, because he first loved us.
