Series Review

We are now at the last week of our series and we have been talking the fact just like many of our nations bridges are structurally deficient the church has places we have been known to be weak.
1.Broken Together Healthy Vulnerability - One thing the local church often lacks is vulnerability. Sometimes, we’re so scared of being seen as less than perfect, that we wear a mask. We never truly connect because we only let part of ourselves be seen.
2. Lean On Me All, Believers, Devoted The local church shouldn’t be a place we visit once a week—and then forget about—but a collection of believers who choose to live life together.
3. I Got You Bro’! Strap in together Life brings its challenges—whether it be temptation, failure, or pride. When those in the church experience these difficult moments, be there to help carry them through (bear one another’s burdens) instead of offering condemnation.

METACOGNITION -transisiton - to think about your thought process
Im going to ask you a question and more important than the question I want us to think about why we came to the decision we have come to at this time in our lives.

Can you live as a Christian without the church?

Here is a rhetorical question for you........
I am interested in what your answers would be.......however that’s not the point of the question
How you answer this question helps you to see how you view the church
-your answer might reveal more about your thinking than you think it will......
I believe the answer to this question is MASSIVELY IMPORTANT, but even more important than the final answer .........is the thought process that brings you to your answer.

Explanation

Hebrews 10:19–25 ESV
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Back
The author of the book of Hebrews is writing to Jewish converts to help them understand what life is like when living according to the New Covenant in Jesus.
-The author has been confirming Jesus as the Messiah through various old testament comparisons the Jewish converts would recognize in order to show establish in their hearts and minds that Jesus is the Messiah we have been waiting for.
In Chapter 10 the author comes to the place where they are explaining the reason why Jesus was the final sacrifice and why they/we would no longer sacrifice animals according to the old covenant.
Bottom Line: Because of Jesus’ work on the cross, we are bound to one another—this means we should help encourage, connect with, and disciple those within our local church.
