What is a symbol of Dedication?
What is a symbol of Dedication?
What is a story of Dedication?
What is the source of Dedication?

I. The presentation of the offering - voluntary

II. The purpose of the offering- victory

III. The price of the offering- valuable

I. Presentation of the offering- Voluntary.

A. The saying from God. vs 1
God is speaking through Moses from the center of camp off of the Mercy seat of God in the Tabernacle.
The people asked that God would speak to them through Moses. Why?
Exodus 20:19
Exodus 20:19 KJV 1900
And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
Several times over 60 in this book it is God speaking to the Nation of Israel through Moses.
Exodus 40:34–35 KJV 1900
Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
-
Some Bible scholars today believe that Torah or Pentateuch (meaning five books) was written by some Jewish scholars later in captivity.
Can’t go against the Testimony of Jesus
Luke 24:44 KJV 1900
And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Moses is the author no doubts. God wants to speak to us will we hear. What are some distractions in your life. What is holding you back. Hunger, Cell phone, relationships, Job? What?
God wants to speak to you. Next time you open your Bible or go to church to hear the preaching the word of God simply say to God … “Speak God for your servant listeneth.” I believe we live in precious times. When the Word of God is not listen to or sought after. We are so fearful of being politically incorrect that we don’t want to say anything that might make us unpopular.
B. The sacrifice to be brought vs 2-3
1. The offering was to be a living sacrifice.
2. The offering, means qar-ban a gift of a general sense to a deity. You never want to show up empty. You have a relationship to God. Not an outsider.
3. The sacrifice was to be a voluntary offering. The act of accepting with approval. Does God accept your type of worship. How do you worship Him. It is never about you, but about Him.
4. The sacrifice was to be brought to a certain place the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. The Tabernacle was the meeting place for God and His people. Before the LORD.
presence ⇔ face n. — the presence or proximity of someone understood in terms of the face; with the implication of being before or in front of them.

II. The Purpose of the offering- Victory.

A. A sacrifice was given for atonement.
Exodus 29:10 KJV 1900
And thou shalt cause a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the bullock.
Exodus 29:15 KJV 1900
Thou shalt also take one ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram.
Exodus 29:19 KJV 1900
And thou shalt take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram.
The offering was to have all the sin of the giver transferred to the animal to take all of it’s sin.
It will atone for the individuals sins.
Isaiah 56:7 KJV 1900
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, And make them joyful in my house of prayer: Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; For mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
Romans 12:1 KJV 1900
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Philippians 4:18 KJV 1900
But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
This offering was completely unto the Lord. No one else would receive any of it besides God totally dedicated to Him.
The life was in the Blood making the blood of the Sacrifice the agent of atonement.
Leviticus 17:11 KJV 1900
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Leviticus 17:14 KJV 1900
For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.
Leviticus
Three times it’s recorded as a “sweet smelling savour.”
Leviticus 1:9,13,17
The Purpose of the offering is to please the Lord.
1 Peter 2:5 KJV 1900
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Is your all on the altar! This speaks of total dedication to the Lord. An animal sacrifice was involuntary … We are to be voluntary. Dedicated.
Are you dedicated?
C.S. Lewis said, If you are thinking of becoming a Christian, I warn you. You are embarking on something that is going to take the whole of you.
A missionary board once wrote to David Livingstone, “Hove you found a good road to where you are in Africa? If so, we want to know hoe to send other men to join you.” Livingstone responded, “If you have men who will come only if there are good road, I do not want them. I want those who will come if there is not road at all!”

III. The price of the offering- valuable vs 14-17

A. The offering was not judged on the price or size of the offering, but the heart two which it was given from.
1. Need to check our heart giving it. They that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and Truth.
2. God will receive whatever we have to give him. Little much when God is in it. He will take it and bless it. 14-17
The priests would start each day with a burnt offering sacrifice. It was the foundational to the other offerings given that day. ,
