In May of this year Ava DuVernay released her NET Flix 4 part series about the Central Park 5.
She use the title When they see us to emphasize that if society had only seen these five black and latin boys as the children they were then they would not have been wrongfully convicted of a rape and murder they did not commit.
Its a lesson learn because even today we struggle with society seeing us a people with feelings and not as thugs criminals or less than others.
Here in the children of Israel the 10 of the 12 spies in particular saw themselves as grasshoppers.
We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes
The chapter opens with Moses giving out the assignment to the 12 spies to go and explore then land.
This assignment in its self was assignment given by the Lord the children along in this faith journey.
What many fail to realize is God had already promised them the land and the cities in the land.
The request came from them to send spies to survey the land.
Duet 1 explains even after they had surveyed the land and found what the Lord had said they still could not muster up enough faith to possess it.
Twelve men were sent out to “spy out “the land of Canaan.
The land that God promised them the land and they only had to go and process it.(verses
1-17) When they got there ten of the men saw problems and had a bad report to delivery but the two others saw the possibilities and returned with a good report.
It’s a story of unbelief and of Faith.

When we endeavor to enter into what God has planned for us, we must maintain our focus.
It may not seem like it but if you are Saved, Sanctified filled with the Holy Ghost and on fire for the Lord you are either right where God wants you to be or headed there.
We are called (As the 12 were) to check out this land and determine if it is good or bad (verses 17-20)
While living here you need to recognize three things…Don’t focus on the inhabitants focus on the promise
Do not be in dread or afraid of them.
30 The LORD your God who goes before you will himself fight for you, just as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes, 31 and in the wilderness, where you have seen how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way that you went until you came to this place.’
Don’t focus on the obstacles focus on the promise
32 Yet in spite of this word you did not believe the LORD your God, 33 who went before you in the way to seek you out a place to pitch your tents, in fire by night and in the cloud by day, to show you by what way you should go.
Don’t focus on yourself focus on the promise
